Under the Dome looked like a horrible show. I'm glad I applied my "WILL NOT WATCH UNTIL IT GETS A FOLLOWING" theory.

That one daughter of the lesbians... I've seen better acting in low budget porn. :lol

Her head will turn out to be the dome itself.

I tried so hard to like it, but I just couldn't take it anymore after they said they were making a regular series out of it rather than a mini-series. I just chalked it up to another Stephen King book that didn't translate well.

I didn't think the book was all that great anyway. Waaay too long. The antagonist in most SK novels turns out to be either the govt, aliens or God. Lightning struck with The Stand (easily my favorite book by him), but it didn't strike twice with UTD.

The book was good. The TV series was a ****ing laughable waste of time. Especially when the "hand of God" literally appeared. :lol

As much I wanted to like the TV version, having read the book twice, I really couldnt help but laugh uncontrollably when that happened.

IMO there really have not been very many good adaptations of his work.

These, unless i'm forgetting one or two are the best...

Carrie
The Shining
The Dead Zone
Stand By Me
Shawshank Redemption
Misery

Usually SK adaptations only work well when a competent director alters the material and only sticks to the overall story in a general way.

And yes, UTD is horrible.

You forgot about Creepshow. IT was good. Salem's Lot was decent. The Dark Half wasn't bad either, but they should've gone for a bigger person for Alexis Machine (Mickey Rourke or Michael Madsen would've been perfect).

Was Creepshow written by King? I didnt realize that. Yeah, Salem's Lot was okay, been a very long time since I saw it. As for The Dark Half, I'll have to give it a look, I actually recorded TDH on DVR but never got around to watching it.

IT, I did not like

All those are movies. The TV versions of his work haven't been good at all to me.

Can't believe I forgot about Cujo. Add that to the awesome list. :lecture:lecture:lecture

Will now watch just to see this **** storm!

:nono Honestly, it's not worth the 8+ hrs. Such a waste of talented actors. :slap :lol

I wish I could point you to the clip where Big Jim has a close up and he says....Damn you, Barby!

I actually laughed out loud and turned the set off.

Edit.....sorry, I was thinking you were talking about Under the Dome. I actually like The Stand, but that scene was done bad.

I might be alone, but speaking of Stephen King, I love "Christine". All the other movies up there as well.
