Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

What season 2 needs: A standoff between the vengeful Merle, and his brother Daryl, who has warmed up to the core group of survivors (and thus wants to protect). Wouldn't that be a great dynamic?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

If you really think about it, why would she keep a grenade in her purse of all things? maybe a hand gun?

Also, I didn't care for the scene with the old guy and older sister. it's like he totally ignored the black lady, and wasn't she part of the group?

QUOTE]

Don't you remember what he had told her when her sister died? It makes perfect sense to me. I think he thinks of her as a daughter now.

Yeah, but his character is not one to leave anyone behinde in his group.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

There's a figure idea for ya, Hot Toys! Complete with dead squirrel!! :yess:

Great idea Ween, it would be a good figure!!! The dead squirrel is a must along with parts of a venison carcass and his brothers severed hand so he can use it to scare away vatos. Not to mention the crossbow w/numerous arrows which would be covered in blood and brain matter since he re-uses them; a pistol; and a pick-axe or regular axe that he uses sometimes to.

Eh, I like Daryl as the short tempered, selfish, selfserving jackass he is.

If they follow (somewhat) the plot of the comic with these major characters you'll understand why he wouldn't/couldn't leave Andrea.

I wasn't a fan of the fake looking explosion...

I agree. Very poor and pretty distracting. I thought the blood CGI was some of the worst so far as well.

____ing slept through it. :banghead

Looks like no one is going to have to listen to me tell them why they're wrong not to like it this week.

:monkey2

Bummer. I was counting on you to make me like it more. :monkey2

This was my favorite scene from the episode. I thought it was really well done. Based on the conversation between Dale and Andrea in episode 5, I surmised that Dale, Andrea and Amy were together before they hooked up with the larger group and thus really close to each other. So it made sense to me that while Dale is concerned with the overall group, his primary focus is on Andrea now based on what they have been through together. His line to her about you can't enter a person's life and get them to care about you and then just leave was heart-wrenching to me.

I would like to see something like this because it would be a way for Daryl to stick with the group longer. However, I hope he does retain his "bad boy", wild streak ala Wolverine or Rogue from the X-men. Flawed characters are so much more interesting to follow and root for, IMO.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I just finished watching this on On Demand. I normally don't like horror movies too much bit I really enjoyed this show. Looking forwrd to season 2.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm interested in discussing a tv show. I think you are allowed to say what you like and dislike about it. I didn't mean to kill the buzz or anything. I just felt it started really strong and sorta fizzled out. Maybe what I was talking about has something to do with hiring new writers...
I have yet to watch the finale but I am excited to see if it changes my mind about it.

That's all. I don't really appreciate the hostility, I'm not lurking from under a bridge or anything.

My post was not meant to be hostile, just matter of fact. Your post just bashes the show and you end it by saying you are done with it.

What's left to discuss?:dunno

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

You know what's funny about this episode? They went out of their way in the beginning to give Shane's character some good will from the viewer (through the hospital flashback), and by the end of the episode they squander all of that by having him attempt to rape Lori

There goes that, right? Suffice it to say, that never happens in the comic.

I think they built up the good will at the beginning precisely because the rape scene was coming. Without the beginning we would hate him more.

Also, he was drunk. Not that that's an excuse, but in his inebriated state he was just trying to woo her. It wasn't until she scratched him that he realized what he was doing. You could see the shock in his eyes.

This is a great idea! :clap

I'm sorry, but for such a great show, this really does sound like a trolling post:
This show lost me after the second episode. Something about the character development or writing, or maybe acting just really started doing a 180 for me. Have you noticed that the best characters are the ones that you know less about. Glenn or T-dog for example.

I hated the sisters and it was pulling teeth watching the whole 5th episode. I don't much like the sheriffs wife, his right hand man, that skinny dying guy on the tree, the liberal old man, or the beaten down scaredy wife. I appreciate the extent of the gloom and doom of the world they are living in but they are still just really annoying characters with little likability for me. I feel more emotion for glenn when hes crying that we bury our dead for about 10 seconds then I do for the blond cradling the other dead blond for 20 minutes. The first two episodes were so incredible, and this one just spent so much time on what I think was worthless. All and all I feel like I'm going to get through this last episode and probably call it quits for this show.

"Something about the character development or writing, or maybe acting just really started doing a 180 for me."

Really?!? There isn't a show I know of with better character development and acting on right now IMO.

"I hated the sisters and it was pulling teeth watching the whole 5th episode."

Really? It was so bad it was like pulling teeth? :slap

That was probably my favorite scene of the season.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Anyone else cheer during the finale when the sister said she was staying? Then she changed her mind. :(

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I don't get the hate for her.

At all.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just finished watching all six (6) episodes, and I can't wait for the 2nd season! :clap

I wonder where they'll go from here.. Will they just camp at another location, probably a much-higher ground? Will they go to another closed-facility like the CDC and hope there's more chances there? Will they ever loot a grocery store so that they won't starve? :lol :dunno

So, he was pulling a Roethlisberger.:yess:
