Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just finished watching all six (6) episodes, and I can't wait for the 2nd season! :clap

I wonder where they'll go from here.. Will they just camp at another location, probably a much-higher ground? Will they go to another closed-facility like the CDC and hope there's more chances there? Will they ever loot a grocery store so that they won't starve? :lol :dunno

They should find a nice gated community, or an even more secure location like a military base or possibly a prison.

Anyone else cheer during the finale when the sister said she was staying? Then she changed her mind. :(

I did because I can't stand her. Of course when I saw her leave with the old guy I was like.. 'Oh great she decided to leave :slap .. why didn't you just stay lady'. :(

better get used to her, she's a major player in the comic and i assume will be the same in the show. you've got at least 5 seasons of her. she gets super badass though.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

This is not a perfect show. I liked it up until the last few episodes. I've been thinking about this for a bit now, trying to find out if I liked it or not. On a whole, I did enjoy the show....I just thought they could've done a better job with the ending and characters.

BTW, I love the lack of Zombie action.....Character Development >>>> Zombies.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

So with earlier speculation about what Jenner whispers to Rick. I was originally on board with those thinking it's pulling a storyline out of the book. After rewatching the episode I'm not 100% sold on that idea anymore since Rick asked Jenner earlier in the episode about the blood tests and Jenner specifically states there were no surprises. Now maybe he said that because he thought it would be better that he not know since he planned on decontaminating everyone in the end, but maybe it's just us filling in the blanks because we've read the comics and are looking for certain plotlines. Season 2 is so far away to find out for sure. :(

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

The statement about 'no surprises' put up a red flag for me right away.

I haven't read the comics and I feel certain that whatever was whispered had something to do with the blood tests.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I think Jenner whispered "you're not gonna work and get another paycheck until October 2011!".

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

well, i must say the season finale redeemed the show. the last 2 episodes, to be specific. it had a bit of everything, humour, warmth, pathos, action and tension.

i liked the sense of hopelessness as the group realized things just got worse for them in the underground facility. and that no one is left out there to "fix" things. no governments, no scientists, no armies. just one guy doing the best he can in the time that he has. it really hammered home the full extent of the zombie outbreak, and the futility of holding on to hope. and yet, some of the group, like rick, still hold out for a chance in hell. it says a lot about the different facets of human nature.

i also liked the way shane's arc has finally played out. i knew he wasn't a clear-cut traitor/sleazebag. he did have very good reason to leave rick behind, cos he genuinely believed rick was dead. he seemed to be filled with guilt in the last few episodes, and a certain sense of resentment that rick's wife hates him. he is flawed and human, and it's not hard to see why he fell for his best friend's wife after such an emotionally wrecking experience.

overall, it was quite a satisfying finale for me, and jenner's whisper is a mild teaser for the 2nd season. it's not an overt cliffhanger, but i think it's just enough to leave us wanting more.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

l think the show was alright. l think it could of been better if it was picked up by HBO. there would be more swearing, gore and just more darker or gritty then AMC would allow, like the Romero zombie movies.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

There's plenty of gore....but I agree, it needs more swearing. There's a few lines I heard in the beginning episodes that sounded totally forced. Needed some ____s. ____s are more realisitc in situations. But that's a minor...MINOR nitpick.
