Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm hoping there will be another price drop closer to the $25 range as we closer to the March 8th release date. They don't even have the extra content decided yet.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I think it depends on what's included other than the 6 episodes. If the episodes themselves are extended - I'd heard there was additional footage - that may make a big difference, as well as any other extras they might provide. Tough to tell with so little info, but yea, for just the 6 episodes more than $20 - $25 is too much.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Season 1 of Northern Exposure was $45 and that was only 9 episodes!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Some, but very few. That's why there's so many great deals on blus these days. Let's remember that Inception was just $18 this week, and that included the blu, dvd and digital copy. New release blus are usually $20 - $25, and that includes most combo sets. The only ones higher than that are a few of the combo sets with 3-D versions.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

But people will gladly pay $30 for a 2 hour blu ray movie?
$35 for 6 hours of film on blu ray is an excellent deal (especially a great show like The Walking Dead).

No doubt. I only pay that much for a movie in certain exceptions. I'm in the minority that hasn't been overly impressed with the show so I will definitely wait for a price decrease before considering buying it.

I just paid $40 for the German Inception Steelbook. Worth it for me because I like collecting steelbooks, and I knew Inception was a "must buy" movie for my collection.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

If it includes a bunch of bonus material and extended episodes I will pick it up. Else I might wait until more come out or the show is over.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Caught the finale, finally. It was a pretty good season. Slightly overrated IMO. I'm not sure it's the best thing on TV since sliced bread, but it is better than most of the junk on the air to be sure. The pilot was the best episode, and the finale was disappointing in that all it did was solidify that the world has gone completely to hell; there's only one dude left at the CDC, and he had become completely disenchanted with survival. I understand why this was communicated, but I don't think it should have been the final episode in the season. I was expecting Merle to show up, but it looks like they're going to develop Daryl a little more before they kick the can on that one.

Season 1 - 8.5/10

Fair enough, I understand your point of view.

Maybe the next season will change your mind! ;)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Finally caught up. Don't have much to add other than I loved the show but the last episode didn't seem to be very finale-ish.

I don't know why I haven't noticed until now, but Skip Schoolnik's name caught my eye at the credits. I remember that name from Buffy, but IMDB lists him as only producing Angel. Whatever. That's an awesome name and this guy produces great shows.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I already have it in HD on my desktop. :)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I assumed that Jenner told Rick that
their blood is already infected. Like we read in the comic.
As another member said. That was what I thought right away.

This would also make sense. Although I forgot about this in the comics until I started rereading trade 3 last night.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I am a little disappointed the show is moving away from the comic especially considering Shane and the introduction of Jenner but overall I enjoyed it. I'll definitely pick it up on BR but I liked the whole thing in the books about not knowing why or how there were zombies just that there were.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

They didn't really get into "how or why" thankfully.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just finished the season, and I thought it was a great show.

I think we will see
Jim as a zombie go back to camp, where the family that stayed behind is at. He saw himself as a zombie, so I think he will show up there later on.
