What is this shows endgame?

I mean how many seasons can this go with no real ending in sight or a path towards an ending.

Comic wise how far are we, half way?

They are still writing the comic. Only 1/3 -1/6 the way through that story according to Kirkman (he has said anywhere from 300-600 issues). And they are only only about issue 53 right now on the show. So they've got another good 80 issues before catching up to this point. So season 8 or so there and by that time they'll still have another 60ish or more to catch up on from that point. The show will eventually catch up to the comic, but not nearly as soon as GoT will catch up to the books.

I crack up at all the "Rick is a p@ssy" type comments. Almost as funny as the "let's kill Daryl off" comments. Rick's fight with the Governor wasn't a sissy beatdown. He was shot in the leg. Gave and received haymakers with the Governor and was literally seconds away from being choked to death. The guy was hurting in a big way and was suffering from significant blood loss and probably a big time concussion. I would like to see how well all you tough guys would fare the next day after a fight like that. :lol

I agree that Rick's decisions haven't been the best to date, but like he said in episode 9 to Carl, he was trying to keep that old way of life for Carl and Judith. He said that now Judith is gone and Carl is a man, so I think we will be seeing a much tougher Rick from here forward. Just like in the comics. Rick didn't become this "bad@ss" in the comics until after the prison storyline.

With everything that Rick's been through, I probably have gone nuts and killed myself by now.

Hopefully for at least 100 seasons, somewhere in the middle I'm hoping this turns into a live TV adaptation of Thundarr the Barbarian though.

Not sure how many of the board members in this thread have kids, but people also have to remember that Rick is making decisions with Carl and Judith's best interests in mind. His decisions cannot be selfish or rash. They need to be practical and safe.

I don't get the Rick hate, never have. In my eyes, you kill off Rick, you kill the show.

Walking Dead is Rick, any marathon will show you that. Say they killed him off this season, now imagine each sequential episode without him. Imagine the series posters and covers (that, to date, have all featured Rick and his evolution). The show started with him, the show will end with him. Do I think the writers dumb/pussify him a bit in some cases? Yeah, sure. But they've done that to pretty much everyone haven't they? :lol Carol seems to be the only one with any *****.

If my theory regarding who killed Karen and David is correct, then Carol will seem a little less ballsy too. :lol

True. And it's only a matter of time until they decide to just kill her off. I'm surpised they've waited this long and let her develop. That's usually grounds for a killin'. They start to get interesting and develop, then they get the axe.

Have kids and would've killed the Governor at the meeting, never having trusted him to begin with based on Michonne's accessment, confirmed by Merle. :wave

Ok. You just shot the Governor at the meeting. He's dead. How can you be sure you are going to get out of there alive? Do you know how many people the Governor brought to the meeting? Even if you make it back to the prison, you've just made your group (including son and daughter) a target for the Governor's group.

I have a Daryl AND a Merle. :wink1: Besides, you saw how incompetent they were. With him dead I would've worked out a deal with Martinez assuming they all didn't scatter.

Yes, we as viewers have the luxury of seeing how incompetent most of the Governor's men were and how many there were, which makes the decision to kill him then and there easier. Rick didn't know any of that. By killing the Governor at the meeting, he could have also been signing his own death warrant if Martinez or one of the other guys popped him there and left his kids orphans. I guess Daryl and Merle could have raised them. :lol

Nam's just mad because if he were in the show, he'd be Shane. We all know what happened between him and Rick.

Don't forget who you're "talking" to. If Martinez had refused he would've been killed too. Also, for safety's sake, Andrea would have been killed as well.
