I'm getting more and more certain the spin off will indeed be a spin off and it will be one or two of the other groups.

Rick, Carl, and Michonne will obviously end up with Carol, Tyreese, and the girls at Terminus. Other than that, there is no real indication any of the other groups will ever meet up with anyone else.

And this episode only served to set up Daryl's death. He won't be the last man standing. That's now what he wants. He's going to die saving Beth. This episode was his death build up episode like Herschel had earlier this year. :lecture

Yes, sadly I agree. I think Daryl is on his way...out. :monkey2

Really think Daryl goes down this season?? IDK, think he has to much to offer longer term

Glenn/Mullet guy/Bob/Sasha/Carol/tyrese/those two kids, all zombie fodder

Eugene will be around for some time to help establish Abraham and Rosita. If I was a betting man, I'd put money on Bob and/or Sasha biting it by the finale.

If Daryl dies it'll be interesting to me to see who riots, cries their eyes out, jumps off a cliff or endlessly whines, pisses and moans here on the Freaks board! :lol

Daryl should go out the way Dale almost did in the comics...

eaten by cannibals.

Taste like squirrel. :lol

It's when people say that every episode is a filler episode is what I'm talking about. Why watch it anymore? I get something out of every episode. Maybe it's because I know NOTHING about the comics. Some in this thread have said FILLER for so long now, that people just don't take them seriously anymore.

people watch it for the zombies. I've noticed that when the show is action packed and episodes are all about zombie smashing everyone is happy. I guess everyone keeps watching waiting for those great zombie smashing moments. But then it gets "boring" in between so the complaining starts.

So the answer to the question "Why do they keep watching?" Because of the zombie killing, that's why. No movie delivers like this show does because this show keeps on coming.
And because the special effects are so good, Better than some big budget movies actually (look at Walking Dead walkers Vs the World War Z cgi zombies for example...) When Walking Dead is good, it is REALLY good.

this is probably the funniest youtube prank I've seen, it made me laugh a lot when the guys got really angry since the guy was not really doing anything besides standing lol :rotfl

I actually think the zombie stuff has become incredibly tedious. During seasons 1 and 2 it felt like anyone save for Rick was up for grabs, so there was real tension whenever a zombie popped up. Now they're nothing more than an excuse to show off make up and gore effects. When Glen had to fight his way out of the prison there was zero tension there because you knew he wasn't going to get bit or die. Same with Maggie and the bus zombies. If you've seen one zombie get stabbed through the eye, you've seen em' all. One of the mains needs to get bitten to show this series still has teeth (pun intended) and make the zombies an actual threat again, and not just cannon fodder.

If zombies were the reason the comic has been so successful, it would never have been made into a TV show.

yeah, well, I'm just saying. People's favorite episodes of the past seasons are always the heavy action zombie killing episodes. (The farm ending, the beginning of S3,)

And if people love those the most, then to people having these slow episodes is kind of filler. My point is that if what people want to see is episodes that are like the ones I mentioned then these episodes are Filling the time in between. That doesn't make people being trolls. It is just that it seems some people are expecting something different from the show.

I'm not saying sacrifice human interaction and drama for the sake of zombies, I'm just saying make them a threat again instead of merely an excuse to show gore.

Crows, after nearly 4 seasons they should damn well know what to expect by now, don'tcha think? :D If they're still waiting for whatever it is they're not getting, they'll never be happy.

I haven't read the comic in a long time, but the zombies really weren't the major threat in that either. Has that changed in the past few years? Both universes, comic and TV, are about the threat the survivors create for each other and themselves.

I love the "slow" character study episodes when they're done right. That episode with the Governor when he was drifting and found Tara and her family was great.

But that's the thing, After 4 seasons we Do get amazing episodes from time to time. We do get those "OMG that episode was insane" moments. I Guess the problem is that some fans of the show want moments like that more often :dunno

that's not how I feel btw. I'm just thinking about it

It was quite good. I'd have eaten the Spaghetti-Os though. Sad day in apocalypse junk food history. :(

I'm not really concerned with being empathetic about others' bad feelings over a TV show. :lol As long as I'm enjoying it, that's enough for me. :)

That's why for me season 4 is great so far. The story keeps moving forward and the characters keep moving too. there is no stalling, I haven't felt any stalling this time around. That's why I hate s2 so much, because they would use 6 episodes to look for a girl. nothing moved forward,
I don't mind if an episode is slow just as long as things are moving nicely, which is why I have liked these past episodes so much too. The Gov episodes were really great. Two two episodes were better than some of the stuff from season 3. You get a sense of things progressing and I love that.

Ween asked the question of "why do people bother". I gave my opinion on why they do. and that's that :wink1:
