It'd be only fair to draw up a schedule. 5am-5pm team white. 5pm-5am team black.

If they're part African-American, part Anglo and part Hispanic, amend to 8hr slots. 24 is a good number to divide.

Having a gender war at the same time would really complicate things though.

Black. The black folks I know and work with all say black.

Depending on who says it and context the term can absolutely sound that way, but it's way better than "the blacks".

The way i bid is if the bin price isnt too bad and id reluctantly pay it thats what i put as my max bid within the last 10 seconds. I win every time. You only pay what the last bid was anyway so you very rarely miss out or get the item at a bad price. Its the best when there has been one or 2 bids the whole auction.

I get a perverse thrill knowing that my highest bid is going to dump on any other sane person's bid, as I watch the snipers fall like flies in the dying seconds.

By bid-sniping, you avoid bidding wars. Some Ebay buyers are crazy, and they'll battle for an item with their last breath. If you bid in the last few seconds, you'll avoid them.

Yea but if you put in your absolute high bid it shouldn't matter? There is no bidding war if you stick to your price.

Yeah but the crux of his point is that by entering a max bid early it gives others time to keep upping the end price. Sure our max bid is what we are willing to pay but we'd still love to pay much less than that right? Vis a vis, concordantly if I'm looking at an auction I snipe with my max bid when there's about 5 seconds to go. No one has time to react. Pretty much guarantees me the win and I never actually have to pay what I entered. And obviously my max bid will only be as much as the cheapest 'buy it now' for the same item from reliable sellers so if I lose I'll just go buy that.

Can others see your max bid?

thats why is weird when a seller will bid once and go up to a dollar less than you. only the seller knows I think.
