I feel sorry for the people who have no choice in the matter. I was at ToyR'Badmkay last night and talking to one of the workers about XBox One and Black Friday, some other stuff too. She then mentioned Black Friday begins at 5:00pm on Thanksgiving. There was a look of hurt on her face about having her family holiday cut short. "I know you can't say it, but that sucks." She nodded yes.

So as you said, I will not be shopping on Friday.

See, sure I feel sorry for the ones who don't want to work, but there are a lot of people who have to work on holidays, like policemen, service men, firemen. And how many people that are *****ing about this will go out and see a movie after dinner? Go use a gas station? Those people have to work, but no one wants to close those down so people can be home.

There are people on my Facebook page wanting to bring back the blue laws. No stores at all open on Holidays and SUNDAYS!

That's why I say, if you don't like it, don't shop. Simple.

I think it might be because a family member has to work and can't be with the family on Thanksgiving. I know my sister's upset her grandson has to work.

There's been online petitions and a ton of article postings on my Facebook page about it. I can understand some people not liking it, but it's been made such a big deal now since it's chain stores that are open. There has always been a lot of people who have to work holidays, but it's a big deal if retail workers have to.

Actually, with the amount of people who actually go out shopping across the US, the actual incidents are few. You only hear about them because the media is looking for them on Black Friday.

I've always worked holidays when I was doing security. Got paid good for it. Now I have five days off without pay.

I feel ya. I didn't get paid for yesterday. At Christmas we're off for 15 days and I only get paid for 4.

yeah I always loved working Xmas or new years because it was double the pay.

And being at home watching tv those two days alone is pretty depressing, So being at work for me was actually the better thing lol
