Seeing constant posts on FB from my sister about my neice having seizures and if no one votes yes for Medical Marijuana she is going to delete them. Honestly, I understand why but if the majority says no then that is how it has to be.

If she really hates that decision, then get up and move to a state that does allow it. Stop worrying about your comfort and worry about hers.

I used to enjoy talking politics with my Father, and others really. You used to be able to do it without fighting. Not anymore.

I agree. I remember when having different political views from one another sparked discussion instead of judgement. Now it's a topic best avoided, unfortunately.

I'm much worse than a libertarian. I'm an Objectivist, and I don't consider integrity to be a noxious gas. I also don't give credence to challenges to my integrity from people who vote in New York state and shill for a system built by wardheelers (particularly when their challenge is as sophisticated as, "I know you are, but what am I.")

I am better than that. No need to choke on my account.

You and integrity? :lol I wouldn't say you don't understand what integrity is, or even that you lack it. I would say that it's so foreign to you it would be the equivalent of a blind man claiming that he possesses sight.

You have this reputation of being a curmudgeonly bastard around these parts. There's a reason at least several Freaks have put you on ignore. But I don't know why.

You're a paper tiger, about as tough as a stuffed teddy bear with horns, a tail and a wooden sword. :lol

I hate this thread.

I hate the fact that if I go back in time I can screw up the entire future by stepping on a bug.

not necessary true. kinna like if a tree fall in the middle of the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it matter? so like if u step on a bug in the middle of nowhere, the chain effect might not reach the future when u come back to your future. it might effect ur future's future. hehe

Hell, it shouldn't be hard to get it anyway. I'd break the law for my kid's health, if I had one.

It's that "us vs them" gang mentality. Some have picked a side, and no matter what, will stick with it.

Absolutely. Plus, some people refuse to consider that they may be wrong about something. Makes them dig their heels in even more. Throw in religion-based rationale for political issues and it's impossible for some people to see any other point-of-view. There doesn't seem to be any "greater good" issues anymore because there are always people that don't want to compromise. People want what they want when they want it and if you tell them "No" or ask them to compromise then you're infringing on their rights.

I always think that in the end, someone has to be right and someone has to be wrong. It's just the way things have always been. It's not to say that you can't have compromise on many issues (as that's a sure fire way of solving many problems). The best you can do for yourself, is to keep up to date with current events and vote based on your own convictions.

However, the people I personally take issue with, are the ill-informed dolts, who drink up the Kool-Aid of political pundits and campaign ads, and keep voting the same people into office who have screwed this country over in more ways than we can possibly imagine.
