I like lots of different kinds of Metal. And I like it when artists are passionate. I don't care blatantly Satanic lyrics. And Christian lyrics that are to overt could be "blasphemous", but a general positive content about forgiveness and redemption is great IMO.

I like my Viking Metal, but Metal doesn't have to be diametrically opposed to Christianity.

Nah, they don't talk like that.

Just downloaded the two latest Becoming the Archetype albums.

Metal is grounded in Satanism. You know that little :rock sign they do with their hands when they head bang? That's the symbol of Satan. How could anybody pervert it into Christian music?

One of my favorite albums is Redemption Process by the Black Metal band Anorexia Nervosa.

They used to have very Violent lyrics, but that last album showed a real change in the lyricists life. I don't no the details, and it was their last album, but it was a great one.

Can we agree here that bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest are the forefathers of metal? Check...mate.

Ronnie James Dio revolutionized the \m/. :rock

I like Viking Metal too. Pagan/Norse themes, i say they're sticking with their roots before the foreign horde brought forth the good news, a cultural re-awareness thing.:lol

Metal is the style of vocals and instrumentals not what the lyrics are about. To say that metal must be satanic is a false generalization. The nice thing about the Christian metal I linked is you don't have to be religious to enjoy them,it is just good face melting jams.

Actually it's not. It's an old hand gesture that means a lot of things. Italians use it a lot, that's why Ronnie James Dio did. That it means Satan is actually something evangelical metal haters came up with, saying it meant the sign of 666.
