Don't go in there with high expectation this movie has the same forced comedy as GOTG2.
I don't have any expectations at all, while I still carry some for JL.

Which makes me be very hyped about Ragnarok and not excited at all for JL.

I'm sure I'll enjoy Ragnarok, I've made peace with the fact that there's no decent Thor in the MCU and that comedy will be crap, and that takes away all the expectations with it, I'm basically like those people who look forward all other upcoming MCU and SW movies, like, no standards at all... They were right, life's fun when you set the bar low.

It's just movies after all.

You will really enjoy the movie.

Like DCEU Marvel has cast it's movies really well that is a big plus. We all know the plot in Ragnarok so its pretty decent the humor is good (over the top i know but it is what it is) they have changed cannon from the comics just ignore that and you will be fine. If you dont dissect the movie you will enjoy it.

I liked the easter eggs in this movie Mortal Kombat, Charlie and the chocolate factory etc.

Is the humor anything like What We Do In The Shadows? If so, it'll be alright probably.

I haven't seen that movie.

Pretty much there is no boundaries for comedy in this movie if you can handle that you wont have any issues at all. For me there is a time and place to be serious, a time and place to be funny etc.

Like i said i did enjoy the movie it was the best out of all the Thors (thanks to Hulk) but way behind WS, Civil war, GOTG, Deadpool etc.

I had not seen or read ANYTHING about this movie. Very surprised with some of the obscure comic references, the comedy didn't bother me at all, its been around for all 3 installments, did not think it was nearly as off putting as the 2 idiot girls throwing the shoe through the portal crap. I thought they really stepped up the action. Loved the battles, not all the characters grew on me, but oh well.

Battles where good especially Hela's battles.

I was disappointed with the Thor Hulk arena fight it was a bit like batman vs superman no where near enough

Just got back. Haven't read any more comments today, so...

IMO deserves every good thing said about it. Hate to get into the "this movie is better than x" 'coz a lot of times it's apples and oranges anyway, but *in general* I'd put this movie in Marvel's upper tier. Better than GOTG2.

1. Yeah, it's very funny, but in a good way; and IMO that doesn't negate some moments that I thought pretty moving.
2. Some spectacular frames. D*mn good CGI anyway IMO most of the time.
3. Perfectly cast. Everyone LOL is better looking than I've ever seen them:lol. Valkyrie IMO is awesome. Hela is staggeringly beautiful:thud: and epically badass.
4. Really liked the Avengers nods. IMO really well done and enough that I felt *satisfied*. Some excellent "human" moments than kinda reminded me of the "can you move your seat up?" scene in CW - e.g all this epicness going on and the funny mundane of everyday life is there. Loved that.
5. Sets and landscapes IMO are rich, well thought out - and other frames w. beautiful simplicity. Loved Dr. Strange in this. LOL I just loved the whole cast.
6. Action scenes - no expert on those; maybe too much frenetic CGI stuff at times - but nothing bored me. Liked Hulk/Thor fight.

Hmm, I guess in a way I feel like the critic who walked out of TWS for the first time, blown away, and was asking "what did I just see?" E.g for me it's like that. Even with all the cheating watching trailers and spoilers that I did, I still kinda feel hit in the head a bit. This movie to me felt "fresh" - nothing for me was been there, done that.

Ok - the nitpicking - some stuff IMO wasn't logical re Loki especially; some stuff too rushed or IMO too "easy".

And, while I found Banner to be kind of poignant at times - I don't have a big dog in the fight over how Hulk is depicted. And Thor, too, I guess I'd have like to see some real moments of introspection about the weight on his shoulders at this point. E.g. the kind of stuff I saw in Civil War and Spiderman - this movie is moving along too fast for that kind of thing. So I can see Hulk fans, Thor fans - may not be happy.:dunno

And some stuff if definitely over-the-top but *shrug* it's like a comic book. It's a comic book movie. Some of the tracks - the real tech stuff - I didn't like. End credits weren't as well done as some other MCU credits are e.g. nothing I paid much attention to. They're end credits that's all.

fanevent.jpg

As for other stuff at this "fan event" IMO what a putz, really:lol. (The 7 extra minutes for the fan event is stuff that will show up on the disk, probably - stuff about the music and Taika joking around. Was expecting more than that). Guess the theater was about 1/2 full. Happy crowd, polite. Definitely a film IMO to see in 3D Imax - IMO really worth it. And I'm already planning to see it again in theater for sure. IMO 93-94/100 and IMO Marvel keeps killin' it.:clap

PS. One of the Justice League trailers was shown and to be honest in 3D it looked a lot better. Still too *burning skies everywhere* and feels like the cast are straining to be "Avenger-like", but it looked a lot better in IMAX. Showed the BP trailer too but I've seen that a lot online. Nothing re IW really - or at least, not like I thought there would be, months ago.

The action is definitely the movie's strongest point. I really liked

the opening battle with Thor and Surtur, and Hela against the Asgardian soldiers.

Karl Urban fighting off Hela's army with his machine guns reminded me of

Karl Urban firing the machine guns on the pile of skeletons reminded me of this. :lol

I liked Karl Urban in this. I thought one of the best things was what were cheeky nods to everything from the Road Warrior to everyday modern living. And Jeff Goldblum.:lol

I wanna see a scene with him and the Collector.

Really, really good. The other 2 Thor movies were forgettable. Big thumbs up on this one.

Disagree. GOTG2 was a disappointment to me, and this exceeded expectations. There were a couple of funny moments in Guardians2, but Thor has several Lol moments for me.

Skipping a few pages here . This movie was awesome! Had me hooked since the beginning. Action had me geeking out. I know it was sold as a comedy but it was definitely mire than that. Those Jack Kirby elements were fantastic. A good freaking ride it was. Good night
