Anybody else watching or watched this on IMAX? I imagine it's worth it for the Thor/Hulk fight alone.

IMAX 3D. Definitely worth it IMO. Jaw dropping like the trailer scene with Valkyrie is gorgeous. Thor/Hulk scene amazing in the arena. IMO see this in best theater you can afford.

So the early reviews are singing this endless praises BECAUSE of the overload of comedy. Thank God I'm not alone and see some conflicting feelings here. I can't believe people are saying that this is everything they want in a comic book movie. This is the 17th (or so?) installment and is unraveling so much that has been built over the last 9+ years.

In honesty, even though this ended up being the comedy overdose I was praying it wouldn't be, I still didn't walk out completely cringing and hating it. I do have to see it again in 2D (saw it in 3D and am not a big fan). I think I can watch it move objectively the 2nd time around.

But even if it resonates with me better after repeat viewings, I don't think I'll ever fully accept the choices they made with both the tone and the director. This is a movie about Armageddon and the bridge leading directly to IW!! Who thought that this should be a full on comedy???

Deadpool being a beginning to end comedy? Of course! Guardians? That's the way the branded it and it's working. Ant-Man? Fine. A Thor movie???? They're killing the character (along with Hulk) because Hemsworth finds it more interesting to play comedic-roommate parody Thor than MCU cannon Thor. This tone is out of place for the character, the circumstance and where the big picture of the MCU currently is, and is going.

If they wanted to take a few pages out of Guardians 1's book... FINE. But even Guardians 1 had a better balance of gravitas and comedy than this. In 90% of the scenes that showed hopes for some weight, it was quickly deflated by jokes.

Hela is to this as Darth Maul is to TPM. The one good stand out thing

I enjoyed the movie but am flabbergasted how this is the highest critically rated Marvel film? I don't know how that happened.

Was not expecting Thor to lose his eye... guess he is never going to get it back? I thought he had his eye in Avengers 3 poster and trailer but they could easily remove it.

Screw This, I must have watched the Ragnarok trailer like 50 times and i know they took out a lot of scenes and redid entire scenes in different takes, its almost as bad as false advertisement

So this is what the world wants with superhero movies? To have a tone like Thor: Ragnarok? Can people really imagine a Batman V Superman movie in this tone? I understand mainstream audiences (non-comic book fans) really don't take superhero movies seriously. To them, it's all silly so they hope for a superhero movie that has a director that also doesn't take the characters seriously like them.

I would rather a BVS tone with a bit more color and a bit more comedy. Wonder Woman level comedy is enough for me i don't want to be laughing for 2 hours i want to concentrate on the movie and its plot. But that is just me.

So how about that Sharon Carter appearing on Captain America's Team on all the promo material aye... :wave

oh yeah, and the digital adding and removing of Spidey.. ;)
