I prefer him being on Asgard at the end.

This way in the Avengers, Thor will still be thought as a powerful mystery and when the ____ does finally hit the fan on earth, Thor's entrance will be grand!

If he's stuck on earth as Thor then everyone will be used to him already

I don't want the Avengers movie to open with Thor being called by the local police to rescue a cat out of a tree and then he goes to a yankee game.

I want him to remain a mystery to everyone on earth, including Shield and Stark, and then when he makes his grand entrance....BAM, in your face Shield/Stark/Hulk/Skrulls!

Time to kick some ass!

The love story wasn't his catalyst to change, it was losing his family, his home and his royalty for good.

He found true friendship in mere mortals who rescued him.

If not for that rescue, he would've rotted away in depression on that chair!

This movie is great just as it is!

Saw it. Really liked it. Thought this was a great popcorn flick and it got me pumped for both Capt. America and Avengers. It was great to see Hawkeye.

My biggest concern for the avengers film is the villain. It is going to be difficult to be a threat to so many awesome heroes. I think Loki is a god choice if they end up going in that direction.

Liked the movie.

But found the asian character highly out of place and distracting.

Reading more reviews around the net and thinking about it myself....BA isn't as off the mark as some might think....I kind of agree that leaving Thor stranded on Earth may have made for a stronger ending and a stronger sense of growth and sacrifice on Thor's part.

Him being left on earth doesn't make sense though. His presence when he goes viral so to speak has to be big. If he's left on earth as JYE said it wouldn't be a big deal. He is sacrificing though as he's giving up being able to come back to earth and be with those people in that town he wants to hang with.

As it's presented in the film, Loki is the one with a more significant and complete arc (I can't stop thinking about Hiddelston's amazing performance) and just a couple of minor adjustments would've made Thor's journey equally powerful. Thank the 9 realms we had such a great presence in Hemsworth...he's everything the role needs - virile,
strong, charming and thoughtful...and with the acting chops to sell the role. But....the script does let him down and the pacing is off a bit.

Agree both guys did great in their roles but can't say I agree on the script or pacing both nailed that ____ hard. Movie moved along just fine for me and never left me feeling slowed down more moved to fast.

I know is probably sacrilegious around here to say this but....I could care less about "The Avengers" movie...I'd rather see "Thor II"...a continuation of the story started in this movie. This movie does do the one main thing it needs to....it leaves you wanting more.

All I can say is :slap My guess is you're not a big comic book fan then. What they do in The Avengers will lead into what happens in Thor II.

I hope "The Avengers" doesn't turn out to be an incoherent mess, with each character coming in and doing their ___ick and then moving on for the next character's "moment". Having last summer's "Iron Man 2" as concerned with the "Avengers" set-up as it was with it's own story kind of derailed it a bit. That issue is less so with "Thor", but I still hope we won't have to wait too long for a sequel that focuses on him and not a set-up for something else....

I think The Avengers will be just fine. I think the characters will be balanced enough with whatever Loki is doing or whoever the main baddie is to keep it flowing nicely. I would also expect Thor II to come out in 2014.

has it been mentioned there will be a Thor 2 or is this just fanboy goss??

The Skrulls would be a great opponent worthy of the Avengers...but i guess Loki taking control of the Hulk might do as well ;)

Black Widow will just be EYE CANDY!!! ;)

Not a fan of Black Widow or the dim bulb actress who plays her.
Best thing is for her to be in league with Loki and have Hawkeye shoot her in the face for her betrayal ala the Ultimates.
They keep lifting "inspiration" from that title anyway and that would carry some emotional weight.

So the little cube at the end. Is it from the Frost Giants power cell thingy or a piece of the Rainbow Bridge?

So this "Cosmic Cube" is something that is never referenced in the Thor movie?

83 million for Fast Five :gah: (amazing numbers)
66 million for Thor :monkey2

But I certainly don't want a HT or SS Fast Five Figure, PF or Maquette :lol

Was hoping # wise it would match F5 but 66 is pretty damn good and especially for a character that I think most people had to ask who is Thor.

Yeah, I agree. I take off my hat to the FF crew. I haven't seen it yet, but that's pretty impressive for a 5th installment in a franchise. And Thor did great too. :rock

Yeah, F5 had enough background with most folks to draw really good numbers. Iron Man had RDJ who was really well know so it makes sense it did better. I think Cap will do better than Thor because lots of people know who Captain America is.

I like how they're setting things up to be (although only slightly) similar to the original genesis of The Avengers with Loki as the main troublemaker (seemingly). It would be great if his manipulation of the Hulk causes a group to form (Iron-Man-- can you say Hulkbuster armour?-- Black Widow, special agent Barton/Hawkeye, Nick Fury, and a certain blonde interdimensional god from Asgard) to stop his dangerous rampage. In the middle of the rampage someone's restful frozen sleep is disturbed and the fish out of water scenario plays out in the second act. A major threat (precursor to a Skrull invasion-- not a full on invasion, that'll be needed for Part II) forces all of them (Hulk included who returns at a climactic point from his loner ways) to band together with Cap taking the lead role... Threat defeated. Movie over. Black Widow unfortunately dies. When she dies her face shifts to that of a Skrull.

What the----- ? Credits. All ready for Avengers II.
