the letter opener is only short by about 1/4 of an inch to be true 1/6 scale. Ice isn't as big as you think - the 1:1 is only 47 inches.

Really? I thought the 1:1 Ice was almost five feet from tip to pommel. BBTS has it listed as 57.5" overall. That's pretty big to me, but then I'm only 5'-6" so ... grain of salt, I guess! :lol

yea the hilt looks cheap to me too but that was a prop straight from HBO so not their fault. Their book Ice was fricken awesome, some people complained of blade wobble but I didn't have any and the white suede grip was really tight and tell done. Didn't get show ice it's just too damn drab but both longclaws look great (though book is better IMO). I'm always disappointed by HBO's take on the arms and colors in that show but some of the armor is impressive, if not book accurate.

I have Robert's hammer and I'm forced to agree, the spike is kinda loose (glue fixes though) and the gold bands don't look great. LOVE the gold etching on the hammer sides and the plaque but the handle is hollow which feels cheap and seems to lack tightness. HOWEVER, displayed on the wall, or in certain setups (like with the mike miller print of the ruby ford battle) it looks bomb and GRRM's signature the book ones come with more than makes up for it.

How do you feel about the oathkeeper proto pics? I'm not thrilled yet
Do you have the Valyrian Steel sword? They just previewed Jaime's sword and I gotta tell you, it looks rather cheap. I wouldn't pay the $275 or whatever. I thought Roberts war hammer was another disappointment. I do like Ice and Robbs sword though. Their other stuff is nice too.

I want to pick up the replica Longclaw on the HBO site. Anyone have that? Worth getting?

I feel if you're going to do a replica than go all the way. They took a lot of shortcuts with the hilt and it looks cheap. I dig the catspaw blade,Ice,Robbs sword, and I think their helmets have been great ie the Hound Loras Tyrells helm. Not crazy about Oathkeeper. I'm a big fan of Roberts Rebellion. Every time it's brought up in the books and we get a sliver of detail about this or that I get excited. I love hearing about the one of one combat between Robert and Rhaegar. I especially like how they talk about how huge and strong Robert was and how Ned could scarcely pick up his war hammer. So the war hammer is a big thing for me. It's probably the most wanted weapon out of all the weapons in ASOIAF. I guess I just pictured it a bit differently than what Valyrian Steel offered. Plus, to me, it looks rather cheap. I heard that the head is hollow and some people complained that it was loose or "spun around". One day when I have the cash I'll have a custom one built from my own design from Baltimore Sword and Knife Co. Great craftmanship, plus the stuff they make are real weapons. That's what I want. Something that looks awesome and can destroy something as well. :lol And I like what I've seen from the show as far as weapons and armor for the most part. If anything, the show has built certain things up more with armor etc. like the Kingsguard. Their armor is great and I prefer it to the book, which they didn't wear. I think the Hound looks great and so did Loras Tyrell in his "Knight of Flowers" armor etc. The Lannisters armor is amazing, and the Starks and northmen look fairly similar to how I thought they would look. Some things aren't as fanciful, true, but it works for the show.

Ok, back to the figures. :lol

Yeah the show armor was well done brienne's was amazing as was the greyjoy and lannister armor. That sounds cool as hell a custom hammer and by then you'll have a few versions to look at for ideas, I can't recall if it's a movie, show, or book series (pretty sure one of the first two) but Robert's Rebellion is getting made. It's gonna be fricken epic. Then maybe a 1/6 scale Rhaegar and Robert would happen! Some cool art of that battle.... Ya, my bad - the blade is 42", the whole thing is 57.5". Still seems small to me.

I have Longclaw and the scabbard. I like them both, although very similar to the quality of UC LotR weapons. I like all of the GoT Valyrian has done for the show (I don't have any of the book ones). I'll definitely get Jamie's.

Really?? Thats awesome. Ill takes whatever I can get! If its going to be a show and keep continuity with GoT I wonder how they will handle the Tower of Joy sequence. Thats something that was left out of the show and is extraordinarily important to the storyline. Id go into detail but I cant use spoiler tags on my phone. And yeah, a book version of a young Robert is a true grail for me. Id love figures of the below pic.

That art looks incredible, thanks for posting, HotBallsJohnson! :rock

Robert was supposed to be a beast/ladies man. Mark Addy was amazing!!

Fixed that for ya. :)

Seriously though, he nailed Robert, and had some of the best lines and my favorite scenes from the series. He's a wonderful dramatic actor. The only thing that didnt match up with the book was his height.

:lol

No, I agree, he nailed a fat, bloated, past-his-prime, lusty and lush RB alright. He's only several inches too short. Maybe should've done forced perspective.

This is also the show that gave us a Mountain 3.0 who's much too young in the face to be the Hound's older brother. And then there's Daario, but that was out of their hands, kinda like with Conan Stevens....

It's not a dealbreaker, I adore the show. It's just a little mystifying at times.

Yeah, I thought the first Daario was pretty cool. I always liked his speech about how he only does what he wants to, how he always has a choice. 4th season Daario is just boring.

Missed opportunity for an awesome character, especially given the rate of how regulars are killed.

Why DID they recast Daario? The recasts get a little bothersome specially since the Daario recast is just devoid of that malicious mischief, it's gonna be out of character when he shows some emotion haha. The mountain recast bothered me too just because Conan was so awesome and worked hard for the role, but thankfully that character doesn't have a ton of emotions past rage and confusion so it wasn't a dealbreaker.

Tower of Joy is definitely one of my most desired scenes to get show treatment. PLUS WE'D GET TO SEE DAWN! They actually had scenes of the Mad King that weren't used for some reason too in the first season. Not heartbroken we didn't have to see his tangled nails and hobo appearance lol

Don't know if you read the Dunk and Egg stories but those are being negotiated for show adaptations which would be cool seeing some more targaryens on screen. That first story would make for some epic television too, both drama and action-wise.

I would've loved to have seen Conan stick with the series. Him vs. The Viper? :yess:

These characters get recast because the actors get better offers elsewhere. Daario 1.0, for example, left the show to do a Transporter movie.

I can't imagine anybody other than the big stars getting paid really well. I'm guessing a lot of the money goes into production, filming in several countries, etc.

Yeah, 1st Daario>>>>>>>>>>>> new guy. And yeah Conan Stevens Vs. Viper would have been awesome. Oh well.

And I would LOVED to have seen the Mad King.

He chose getting beat up by Jason Statham to frenching Emilia Clarke!? Interesting choice lol. Yeah there's so many characters played by renown actors you're right most probably don't get a ton of cash. I remember this interview with Pycelle and he's talking about how he is changing the role since he's so talented (in only slightly more modest terms) and the character changes and hints he's claiming are literally all things Pycelle does in the books anyway down to stuff that happened when the mad king was alive. It was kinda funny haha I kept imagining George Martin holding a big wack a mole mallet over him whispering "take credit one more Fing time"

He left to play the lead in the reboot of the Transporter, which if successful, will have multiple sequels.

And that's well and good, however I think changing the character completely, rather than recasting, was a huge blunder by the producers which could have easily been avoided. The same goes for the Mountain. Just because you hire a new guy doesn't mean you throw out elements of the character design used with the previous actor. Makeup and hair coloring would have gone a long way to improving the appearance of the mountain last season. Again, just sloppy production in a series with otherwise stellar production value.

I just didn't like the new Mountain. He only had a few lines and he was 'meh' at those. I felt he was just reciting lines in a gruff voice at the end of that fight rather than making me believe them. And the old Daario had swagger, a great delivery, and just looked mischievous, like he should. The new guy has none of those. :lol

I didn't know he actually got the lead role for the Transporter though. I remember when it was first announced he'd be replaced you find any information as to why.

The guy who now plays the Mountain competes in the World's Strongest Man competitions. GoT was his first acting gig. Shocking.
