HT doesn't always nail it, but they have a wide array of final products to look at. Threezero has Tyrion, and while he looks pretty good I'm not gonna take it as indicative of all future products. The Shepard sculpt prototype isn't anywhere close to where it needs to be... If they manage to turn that around I'll have more faith in them in the future.

Fair play. I understand from your angle. My personal opinion, I thought the Shepard was a decent attempt, not quite there yet, but a much better example than Ned from this Game of Thrones line. Overall though, I did like the Mass Effect line they showed so far at the Toy Soul event. Shame they didnt display with the headsculpt for us to see.

The quantity of products released doesn't have any bearing on the quality, which is what the comments were based on. But using the quantity to calculate probability, Hot Toys produces enough misses that anyone waiting should not only be worried about it, but expect it. So in other words, the comment about skepticism regarding 3Zero is more aptly applied to Hot Toys, as just one example.

I don't agree. You seem to have it out for HT and praise ThreeZero like you have a stake in the company so I doubt you'll agree with me either. HT has had some misses, but I would say they've had more hits than misses. Cavill Superman, Cap/Rogers and TDW Thor are all pretty nice sculpts. Tyrion looks good but I won't have blind faith they will get every licensed likeness spot on. I will have to wait and see on the matter. The main one for me will be whether they improve that Shepard sculpt.

I own plenty of HT figures, and I have a number of additional ones on my shopping list. Both included misses. HT has done Chris Evans many times. RDJ at least as many. Hugh Jackman, etc. How many of those are hits? Maybe 2? Maybe.

Blind faith doesn't play into it and it's not something I have in any company, including Three Zero. They just happen to be the company with the most exciting licenses for 2014/2015 and have been showing fantastic work. They've also been around a long time and have continually produced amazing release after amazing release, even if they don't all feature human likenesses.

I'm not sure why it's so hard for people to accept a simple statement. Don't cast doubt on a company that has done nothing to earn it, especially when there are many others out there (Hot Toys was only an example) that have definitely earned a great deal of skepticism due to an inordinate number of poor or lack-lustre results.

I can understand when some folks cast aspersions toward Sideshow - with that one at least they have some track record of not following up their prototypes with suitable production process. But 3Zero's is, IMO at the top echelons of production quality in this industry - Hot Toys is there too. Their issue comes down to simply not always selecting good enough sculpts to produce.

Sorry but I haven't been following this thread (and it's like 73 pages long now so trying to find my answer might be tricky), but I wanted to know if there is a new head sculpt, or is the head shown in the first post of this thread the final production head?

I really liked the movie Equilibrium, I might make some custom figures with 3zero's sean bean sculpt and HT's christian bale.

Broad statement but it really only comes down to personal opinion on all these toys and sometimes its a hit and others a miss. Ultimately if you don't like something, don't buy it.

Yes, precisely this. There are no guarantees.

It's been reworked, newer images are just a few posts back. The rework makes a big difference, as now Bean no longer looks like a Romulan.

Thanks. Yeah, I was going to say that first head looks like a head you'd find on an $8 military figure you'd pick up in Walmart or Big Lots or something.

I wonder if we can get 3Z to ship a few extra bits of that fur to mod the new Sideshow Hoth Solo. ;)

I don't know how much the sculpt has changed from the first post in this thread (some details are exactly the same between the two) but the better paint job sure helps.
