I've put the pre-order down for Tyrion.

I'm really not bothered about Daenerys and never have been, but i can understand the importance of the character.

Dependent on how far in the venture and price, I'd probably get most of the figures they are likely to make.

#1 for me is Ned

Really? Seems like a pretty central character to me.

It seems to be he's looked at as one of the main guys but it seems to be to me his storyline is really isolated from the rest and it might be different in the books but at least in the show he does t actually DO too much either. He swung his sword like three times and then pretty much just pouts the rest of the time.

I know a few people watch the show and read the books but I'd never personally want to read the books so some of these "super important" characters I'm judging only on the show and I'm sure many will too. Just my perspective of course, but I'm not sure too many could really get excited about the girl Arya, based on the show alone. She's fine but not particularly exciting either and she's more interesting when she has hound around but otherwise she's kind of irritating. Even if she has the most chapters in the book, the show does not see,not characterize her in any major way. Again this is just my perspective. There's probably enough game of thrones fans out there to make less important characters like this sell a little but I'm sure the majority of the people are ones who watch only the show and while I like the show, and watch it every week and would like a few figures from it, structure and flow of story is not its strong point, there's so many afterthought characters that it's hard to get excited about too many of them.

But truly though I'm not hating, there's only a few from this series I'd buy anyways so I hope they make everything for everyone, whether it's 3 people or 300 000 who want it!

Anybody else notice the story that GoT has passed Sopranos to become HBO's all-time most popular series?

Both great shows and there's no denying the significance of the Sopranos in firmly putting cable original programming on the world map - but in addition to being great, GoT is also epic in scope and production. Even if, for me, this is the weakest season so far, and the last episode my least favorite by a big margin (it was just too negative overall for my mood).

This season, more so than others, just seems like the writers have been spinning their wheels without a firm direction - this is usually the biggest complaint I've heard from others all the way back to season one - I've never felt it until this season. Still my favorite show. The issue could probably have been dealt with in part through better editing and shuffling/grouping some scenes differently.

I'm actually curious on your idea of "central" or important characters. apparently no one in the show is. haha

Yeah, I read that too. A much deserved achievement. GoT is just the perfect blend of drama, adventure, and humour for me.

The Sopranos was overrated. I mean it was solid, better than its competitors at the time, just overrated. It did have some great one-liners from the early seasons that I use to this day whenever possible:

"Oh, again with the rape of the culture."

"Those were some tough Jews."
