I think sculpted would look terrible, but I understand that some people prefer that.

The way her hair falls, I think it would be tough to keep that style on a figure with rooted hair. I would imagine with humidity, or even cold weather, that the hair would eventually straighten out ( I live in Florida, heat does crazy things to hair). However, the only issue with sculpted hair would be the hindering of neck articulation.

It's not actual hair, so being made of polyester or some other non-porous polymer, it's unlikely humidity would affect it. Long hair always looks "meh" (or worse) when sculpted on the figures I've seen. Worse still is what happens to articulation.

For all the people that want dragons I figured I'd point out to those that may not know that a CG dragon mock up can be seen in one of the teasers. So, yeah, we'll get dragons. I'd suspect season 2.

For all you fans of rooted hair from a company with no experience producing figures with that feature, I have one name:

Amy Pond.

Is that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? The Big Chief product looks half decent. At the very least in line with their other Dr. products, which in my opinion are not at 3Zero level.

Better to use a photo that doesn't itself look bad for many reasons other than the hair we're trying to look at. The rooted hair looks light-years better than the sculpted - but the color is off on both versions. On the sculpted version you won't be able to move the head at all, nor do much with the clothing.

But again, this is Big Chief, and has nothing to do with 3Zero. We might as well be showing pictures of Hot Toys figures like Selina Kyle and Black Widow.

All-sculpted details are for chumps like McFarlane.

Piper, the pics you chose are not how it looked for most of the people who received theirs. Your input in not valid. But even the carefully futz'd and posed pictures you posted of the rooted Amy show that it is pure ass and serve only to buoy the point I am making. Thank you. :wave

You're entitled to your incorrect opinion. ;) But seriously, I'd rather have zero figures than a sculpted long hair figure. No pun intended on the zero. Not that I'd be even remotely interested in a Daenerys figure anyway, regardless of how many dragons it came with. It'd just be a chick in a dress. Now a dwarf in a dress is completely different.

Nor am I interested in Dr. Who figures, making this whole line of discussion completely moot (and well off topic). I'm also one of those crazies that doesn't want a 1/6 Chewbacca unless it can be done (very) well with fibrous fur/hair.

Ditto. On this we can agree. :lol

I'd rather have an Arya figure, but I'll take Danaerys and Cersei if they can give them good rooted hair. They should outsource to Tonner, or something.

Having Tonner do it would jump the price at least by. $60. For me, I am waiting to see how much Ned will be.

Not to fan the flames, but Dany has her hair back and braided, so if they can reproduce that with rooted hair, then it wouldn't be poofy and wild like Amy's turned out to be.
