I don't think they've really separated.
Threezero has been doing stuff separate from Ash all this time(Squadts for example),it's just now they've been recently picking up more licenses.

I plan on getting the exclusive 2-pack. Great looking figures at a great price equals a buy for me. If this line is done right then ThreeZero can definitely shake things up in the 1/6 market. Now if only they could do Breaking Bad. Oh well.

its a soft pvc, the type used on some electrical wires. soft/malleable but more durable than rubber and wont crack or break under stress.

it was used on 3A's recent evenfall strigoi drop. alot were worried about cracking and breakage seen with rubber bodies at time of sale but we were told rubber was not used cuz of this history and the new soft pvc wouldn't suffer the same fate etc.

They're 1000x better than the rubber bods they used in the Rambo days and given we haven't really seen anybody in the HT X-Men: Origins Wolverine thread screaming about tearing/cracking/crumbling (the first PVC-ish bod they released), I'm guessing they're solid. I hope that's the case since Hulk and now Thor have the same arms. The rubber itself doesn't allow for full articulation so it's sacrificed a bit for aesthetics, but with something like Michonne's pets (assuming it's the same material), that's a total non-issue.
