I think fans can generally live with seeing Buffy sitting on a baddy throne. Buffy certainly had a snarky side to her so it's no biggie or stretch. Ultimately, I think more people take exception with the likeness then they do with the pose or throne. Besides, who can argue with those boots!?

Ok obviously i oredered this..... just a little late to the show, as for how i feel about her:

I love that the Excl. isn't a print!! however with that said i am a little puzzled over it being the slayer scythe. This is obviously a Season 1-2 buffy and the Scythe wasn't around yet.

you could argue and say it isn't season 1-2 and that it's just a continuation of the buffy-verse but when looking at it i don't buy that for a second!

As for the likeness, i see her in there but not really, still an awesome face sculpt but not close to dead on SMG.

Everything else about it is just AMAZING!!! I LOVE the "irrelevant" throne, the pose (of course) and the overall look.

Just not to sold yet on the likeness or the relevance of the exclusive.....even though it is mega cool!!!

I ordered the Excl. but don't think i would display her with it.

Overall i Love it, just want the face tweaked a bit, but it's AWESOME to have Buffy back in the SSC Rotation again....it's been too DAMN long!!!

She is still on the fence, she doesn't get the hair and doesn't see the likeness.

I do agree with her with the hair though, not sure where they got the hair from but I still see SMG in the sculpt, not spot on but I can see it!

To me, I do not get the impression this is supposed to be her throne.

I actually see it as mocking too, but I have this vivid scene in my head.

The big bad is losing his cool because he can't find the slayer, and is taking it out on his cronies. A snarky remark comes from behind. Wide-eyed, he turns.

Cut to:
Camera reveals Buffy sitting on his throne holding Mr. Pointy in a casual yet mocking pose.

It's such a Buffy move, I can forgive it for not having happened. Like many of you, I feel like it could have.

Hopefully, we'll see an actual copy of the statue at this summer's SDCC. By that point, we'll discover if any tweaks have been made to improve upon SMG's likeness. My thinking is if the piece truly looked like SMG, there would be more people saying so as well as more people eager to jump on board.

I'd like to consider myself to be a huge Buffy fan. IMO, this doesn't look like her from any season I've seen. There's room for improvement. It's still a very nice piece. However, it's not SMG.

Agree. Thus defeating the purpose of the piece for me. I wouldn't spend that kind of money or some unknown bottle blond female sitting on a Conan cast off. It's just not Buffy like imo, either in concept or in likeness.

Good for those who like it though. At least Sideshow bothered to get the design of the scythe right this time around.

Lol, I am a big ol' geek when it comes to Buffy. But I feel a bit alienated to her, compared to the earlier seasons. For all I know, she is the throne-kinda girl these days.

I did pre-order it right away, just in case. I have no idea what I'll think about her in a few months, so I'll decide then.

Funny thing is, at first I was a bit cranky that instead of realistic statues, we got tikis, but then I started to really like the tikis, and now that a realistic statue is here I can't feel half the exitement I got over most of the tikis.

I wonder when we will start to argue about breast size. Maybe there's too many straight dudes here, so I'm the only one who thinks the breasts and pose is a bit off, size and slutty-wise.

That's the perfect senario. But from what I remember from the promo vid (and implied by the name "Throne of the slayer", as in her throne) it's suppose to be a symbol for her power, so yeah, it's technically her throne, but let's fanwank it and say it's a bad guy's throne she "borrowed" to make fun of the bad guy.

I think you are right, this piece is NOT tied to a specific season. It is just the artists rendition of Buffy.

Yup. Although obviously season 1 and 2 are a big influence for the piece (at least that's what I concluded when I first saw the completed piece), it is a more artistic approach to the slayer. From my understanding the line is not necessarily supposed to be a tie into a specific scene, season, etc. of Buffy.

artists rendition or not this piece screams buffy early years...season 1 or even 2, thats why the (although very Cool!!!) the scythe doesn't really make sense to me imo.
