Basically I don't like it being "Lio-on-Roids"...

Hey! Don't get me wrong...
It's an amazingly detailed sculpt, no questions at all...
It looks great, and pretty impressive overall...

BUT, IMO, it doesn't capture the essence of Lion-O...
Excessively muscular, and way to "angry", not Lion-O's classic features... he was fierce, and obviously muscular, but this is way over the top methinks...

It definitely seems like 2011 is the year of Thundercats. Shown below is a new teaser image from Pop Culture Shock for their upcoming Mumm Ra statue. Though still waiting for approval to go into production, this is pretty much the finished product other than it will have streamers that come off the back of the helmet which are not shown in image below.

The EX lights up and will come with an Extra item. I don't remember if Jerry confirmed what the extra is or not, but I believe it will be the un-extended Sword of Omens?!

No, Jerry confirmed that there will be no second item added. Because of some difficulties they where having with it during production.

Quick question...

between the regular and the exclusive versions of Lion-O,
how important is the 'light-up feature?

I ask because i don't think if i had the light-up version, i'd have it light up all the time. and i'm curious what the effect would look like...

any opinions out there?

it may sound like i'm trying to justify just getting the regular, which may be the case, but just curious.

Of all the Sideshow pieces that I have with light up features, I have only ever turned them on once to make sure it worked, since then (for me) it's a useless feature. I do have to imagine if you ever plan on re-selling, the light up version would get you more $$. I think if its a piece you plan on keeping you could probably just get a regular at a 20$ off retailer online.

well, i placed a waitlist for the exclusive, and ordered the regular one... and within a day, my waitlist converted cuz i got in right on time, so... yay!

I know I did...it looks kinda cool to me sometimes..and then sometimes it looks chunky and gay. I dunno, I just figured at that price it has to be something you are totally in love with. NOW MUM-RA is a must buy for me! That thing looks sick!

Well, i grew up watching GIJoe, Voltron, and Thundercats, and this looked pretty good. When they announced at least another one (Mumm-Ra), i decided to consider it more.

I'm actually hoping they'll proceed with the full set with Panthro, Cheetara, Tigra, and the Wily twins... maybe group with with Snarf...

I'd go fo the set.

As for cancelling, yeah, you'll always have folks not 100% happy with it, but like Corrose said, if you like it, go for it. so...
