I never used to use stands until I had to repair an expensive custom figure that fell

Hi freaks!
I'm wondering how many of you pose your HT figures without an stand. I'm always tempted to take off the stand anden create more dynamic poses. Any examples of your collections will be appreciated.

Stands ruin the illusion that these are people shrunken down to a 1/6 scale. This is particularly the case because the stands vary wildly, like The Predator base next to the luke skywalker base. They remind the viewer that they figures arent real. If i have to use a stand i use the generic acrylic ones. They are clear and uniform and therefore far less conspicuous.
miohomir sounds like a middle eastern gay guy.

Not a fan of stands. Most of my figures are displayed in wood-constructed diorama bases.
I take old metal clothes hangers and cut them apart, keeping the straight pieces. Then I drill a hole into the diorama base to match the diameter of the metal hanger rod, and place a length of rod into that hole.
Depending upon how a particular figure is dressed, I'll either slide the metal rod up a pants leg, put it behind a leg and attach it to the back of a belt, or drill a hole into a boot/shoe and run the rod into that hole. Sometimes I use two rods - one for each leg - for extra support.
miohomir wtf!
I just glue the feet to the base so i won't fall.
it's clear that well-hung people don't collect at all and live a full life, while small-peen collectors waste their life playing with dolls because they have no friends.I think it's clear that inferior, small-peen collectors use stands, while more discerning, well-hung collectors do not.
