I find the wrappings and the wings the most noticeable problems... if they fix just those two things, I'm satisfied.
Is the Hasbro ark correct in ALL aspects brought up here: points, wings, etc?
I'm with you. Those are the 2 things that stick out and are both fairly easy to correct.
Don't forget the fat ankles.

All I can say is I'm glad Toht hasn't come under such scrutiny...yet.
And that isn't saying that you guys aren't correct.
Toht looks amazing, but man, does that Ark need some work. It looks kind of superdeformed; the angels and the legs are stubby. And what's with those highly inaccurate pole wraps?
I think that often SSC gets nitpicked to death here, but the problems with the Ark are pretty big, and unacceptable. I'm fairly obsessed with the Ark (to the point of shelling out for a 1:6 garage kit, which I still really like, even with my mediocre gold-leafing skills), but if the glaring issues aren't fixed I may have to pass on Sideshow's. It will be partially dependent on how I like Hasbro's once I get it.
For reference, here's my Ark, with the SSC Indy (not pictured are the actual wooden polls with actual fabric pole wraps):

The side rail on the top on my garage kit has 12 points on the long side, which I'm not sure is accurate either. The side bas reliefs turned out a lot better than in the proto photos of SSC's though.
Hmm, my first thought when I saw this pic was "how did you get the SSC ark already?" Just this photo makes the angel wings look stubby and the legs are exactly like the SSC ones. I have this kit too, it's widely available, perhaps this is just a place holder for SSC until they develop their own ark?
Or...
And I'm not backtracking on my comments, but like others, I sometimes go off on something I care a lot about. Notice that none of the shots of the ark are at 90 degree angles such as we're looking at the screen caps. Perhaps there's some forced perspective thing going on so the wings look stubbier?
The fact that metaphorge's pic looks so much like the SSC ark in that picture must give us pause.
Toht is phenomenal though - great sculpt, great outfit, plenty of accessories - a homerun even if they don't do anything about the glasses.
The fact that all the pics are labeled prototype pending approval means this is not a close to production piece - so there's time to fix the ark.
Or maybe they used the kit to create a mould for their own Ark? It wouldn't be the first time a toy company has done that to save time and money. The electronics in the 12" Character Options Dalek are basically an exact copy of the electronics that Product Enterprise used for their classic series Dalek; and PE used an expensive custom made sonic screwdriver as the basis for their own officially licensed one.
I agree, at most SSC used the feet and (possibly) some of the lid. The railings and the murals on the sides are VERY different. I'm going to bet that they didn't reuse any of the parts, though they may have gotten some inspiration and reference from the kit.Nope, I have the kit and if they did use it, it's just parts. Most of it is pretty rough.
Welcome to the board, and don't sell yourself short on the job you did with this kit. Considering you are not a professional it's outstanding, and I will continue to enjoy it.I actually made that Ark kit a long time ago. I did the best I could. It didn't turn out too bad all in all. I did redo the railings and feet making them much better. Here's some pictures of the latest I did.

I stopped making it all together since Hasbro did such a good job. Like y'all say, the angels are off plus the sculptures and other things I'm sure. In doing it, I had limited pictures to go by. Plus I'm not a professional or anything.
Anyway, I imagine Sideshow created their Ark quickly for this pre-sale. I think it will be much more accurate when it starts shipping. I would think it will ultimately be the best of the best. I'm looking forward to getting it.
If anyone who has my kit wants or anybody else, I do have extras of the new rails and also of the cherubs. I need to get rid of them; they are hanging out in my garage.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!!!
