I'm a bit confused by all this talk of "rushing out a prototype" to meet the solicitation. They've had this license for how long now? And released how many figures for sale? I can understand maybe that the Ark was a last-minute addition to try and boost sales so that may be why attention to detail is a little lacking, but things like Toht's glasses?

"Prototype pending approval" should not be an excuse for inaccuracies. I guess that the approval that they're waiting on is partly SSC's own internal process, but when I read that I mostly think that they're waiting on licensor approval - and really, should we have to rely on LucasFilm to catch Sideshow's mistakes?

Personally, I think it's more of lacking the attention to detail they once had. There really is just no excuse for some of the inaccuracies I've seen of late.

So online retailers love this line then, right?! Yeesh, they are certainly making the exclusives must-have.

:horror

The alternate melting head makes this piece in my opinion, that being said I would have loved to grabbed this but just can't justify spending this much on a 12 inch figure when I just spent close to the same amount for the Han Solo in Carbonite Environment.

i would love to buy the figure, display it regularly, and put out a candle in my house, with the melting head attached, and then tell company that i refuse to light any candles, because they have feelings too, and for proof, look at this candle that i lit one time...did not come out pretty.....
Yeaaa, i dont like having much company.

:) Toht is extremely cool...

:)

Thank you.

My opinion, though no one will listen because y'all think I'm a Toht freak, but I'd much prefer to have them announce this like they did now with a "pending" disclaimer, then have to wait another 3-6 months for them to finalize it for some proto pics.

You know I was thinking, they should run with this alternate demise of the villain headsculpt thing, because you could do it with a Walter Donovan rapidly aged alternate head, and a Spalko w/ a variant head that has it's eyes on fire. Or Dovchenko with hundreds of ants crawling down his throat..and you thought melting Toht was creepy.

I really want a neck stump with Belloq then.

They could do an exploding head as an action feature. Sculpt a screaming Belloq then make the headsculpt a kind of jigsaw that you assemble, and put a spring loaded projectile inside the torso...press a button on the back...and ka-boom! I think that's how the original was done - they blew the head off with a shotgun.

I am personally hoping that forbidden planet will be able to aquire some of the exclusive versions like they managed with Belloq, i know it will be expensive but i would love a version of The Ark.

They didn't use that in the movie, obviously...

Ah! And now I can say you are a 100% wrong!

Same with me. I initially passed on Belloq, but I put myself on the waitlist as soon as Toht was officially announced!
