I actually made that Ark kit a long time ago. I did the best I could. It didn't turn out too bad all in all. I did redo the railings and feet making them much better. Here's some pictures of the latest I did.

I stopped making it all together since Hasbro did such a good job. Like y'all say, the angels are off plus the sculptures and other things I'm sure. In doing it, I had limited pictures to go by. Plus I'm not a professional or anything.

Anyway, I imagine Sideshow created their Ark quickly for this pre-sale. I think it will be much more accurate when it starts shipping. I would think it will ultimately be the best of the best. I'm looking forward to getting it.

If anyone who has my kit wants or anybody else, I do have extras of the new rails and also of the cherubs. I need to get rid of them; they are hanging out in my garage.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!!!

Hey Paul

Good to see you here! I have one of your arks as well, though I admit I still haven't put it together...was waiting for SS Indy this whole time. I still plan to use it for my original custom set of figures. Your ark rocks!

With the EP3 Clone, the Ark, Toht's glasses and lots of other recent things I think this question needs to be asked:

What the hell happened to Sideshow's attention to detail??

I mean, a lot of these things are noticeable right off the bat with a simple photo comparison.

They used to get things so amazingly detailed and right in the 1:6 scale. Now they're throwing out prototypes that are not even as accurate as HASBRO?! How is this even possible?!?

Someone questioning the magnificence of Toht? :lol

Say it ain't so!

It's a $60 figure at-best...

Actually, I don't have much of a problem with the Toht figure. There are a few bugging inaccuracies. But overall he's awesome and the good definitely outweighs the bad, by far. But the $99.99 price for just the figure is indeed pretty baffling. :google

Mainly, it's the Ark that has me befuddled. That is something that I figured would blow me away if Sideshow ever decided to make it in 1:6 scale. Instead, I'm sitting here in total amazement over how much better looking (and more accurate) the Hasbro one I have is. Yes, it's just a prototype... and I do hope that Sideshow just rushed it together for the solicitation. Because there is much work to be done.

Toht is looking pretty awesome, though. Fix those few minor nagging issues and he will kick major ass.

I keep hearing that about "prototypes", but it seems that lately their final products have actually come out worse.

Indy 12", Indy PF, Lara...

Don't get me wrong, I'm frothing at the mouth to get my Indys (both sizes) in, but they just don't look as good as the proto shots.

Are you serious about the Indy PF? I think that it turned out much than the prototype actually... at least the head paint apps.

And while many Sideshow products lose some quality in the production process, they HAVE been known to change and fix stuff when issues are pointed out on the protos.

Granted, I don't have mine in-hand yet (thanks, Sideshow!) but yeah I'm actually more of a fan of the proto PF shots.

Again, it's probably the best PF ever, but it seems to me that a little was lost during production.

Wow. Some of the latest in-hand pics of the PF have me more than happy with it (especially the paint apps). I think you'll change your tune when you get him.

The 12" is another story...

I certainly have issues with SS...but hey, at the end of the day....it's f#$%ing Indiana Jones :lol

I was painting Sgt. Slaughter's hat brown when I was seven years old because I couldn't find a Kenner Indy.

This is a great time to be alive. :banana

Toht looks awesome. The glasses I'm sure will be fixed seeing as how it appears to be just the little bar holding the lenses. The Indy PF looks amazing minus the little brown dots that seem to have so many anal Indy fans in an uproar, and the 1:6th is pretty damn kick ass IMO. I love it!

I think I understand what's making the Ark look so off to me, it's the Angels. They're too large in proportion to the rest of the Ark. If the Angels were smaller, then the wings wouldn't have to be as stubby in order to meet in the middle properly.
I'm sure Sideshow will fix these issues since so many people notice them.

Just hold out, get the regular Toht and the early buzz on the crappy polystone ark will drive down the prices of the superior Hasbro one. :whip

Sorry, Wor-Gar :lol

Toht is badass looking! Nothing like a melty head to get the blood flowing!

I've passed on regular Belloq, but if they give us a ceremonial version I'll be all over it as well :rock
