I figured that a reaction where we can't really tell whether we like it or not was in order.

The road to a mature Spider-Verse has officially begun.
"N-Now, eventually you do plan to have uh Spider-Man in your...in your mature Spider-Verse right? Hello?"
I figured that a reaction where we can't really tell whether we like it or not was in order.
Gotta be honest here... the best Carnage story was Conway's recent ongoing, and that had nothing to do with Spider-Man. Dunno, it might work. I didn't see s single CBM in the cinema this year, but Venom could be good. I'm optimistic anyway. For me, as soon as Stark's out of the picture, I don't care about the MCU, and the DCEU has given me nothing to be excited about, so... I'm kinda looking forward to the SONY & FOX stuff.
Also, I really hope they work in Venom's goofy nature. People think he's an edgelord, but he's actually a pretty corny character. And Hardy definitely can play funny, unhinged characters, so I'll be dissapointed if he's simply a broody boogeyman. He's one character who needs some silly quips now and then.
That run is pretty good. Im not sure why people become pessimistic if/when Spiderman isnt in the picture. Plenty of these villains can hold a storyline on their own.

We honestly won't know until the trailer comes but right now it's all strange to me. I'm sure Venom will look fantastic but recent leaks read that Carnage is a cult leader who has a symbiote type hybrid and doesn't turn full symbiote til the end
Take with a grain of salt.
easer drops at Super Bowl, full trailer with New Mutants. Sony mulling songs for full trailer, really aiming for Beautiful People
-Film being shot with R rating in mind but test screenings could make it PG-13
-Villain is Cletus Kassidy, doesnt turn into symbiote Carnage but has some sort of hybrid human/symbiote mix throughout the movie, think Topher Grace Venom but better lookin. Full symbiote Carnage being saved for sequel
-No subtitle yet, could release just as Venom
-No Daily Bugle, Spiderman, J Jonah or Oscorp.
-Plot revolves Brock being targeted by a cult lead by Kassidy after Brock writes story about exposing them. Venom symbiote finds it way to Brock after he escapes from the cult followers after an attack on him. It is never explain what the symbiote is or how it got there, its just there. Kassidy has a portion of the symbiote but not enough to full symbiote. Needs brock’s part. Brock uses symbiote against kassidy, kills the cult followers. Movie ends with Brock leaving Kassidy near death and declaring himself protector of innocents. after credits show kassidy’s symbiote fully bonding with his blood to become Carnage
-Kassidy is dubbed Carnage killer because the way he kills and leaves blood everywhere, sony wants Kassidy to be a mix of jigsaw and freddy krueger.
-They set up for carnage spawns in the sequel, also Black Cat and Silver sable name drops.
-Sony wants Venom to appeal to the older demographic, marketing will be more akin to a horror movie than superhero.
-Brock doesnt refer himself as venom until end of movie.
-Sequel script being written, will cross over with Morbius and Silver and Black movie
Kinda sucks hot ass to me but hey.

This thread is plagued by one pessimistic poster with awful taste in film. The rest of us are pretty stoked about what SONY is doing with this 90s-inspired hard 'R' Spider-verse.
Why would anyone be excited about a "hard R" Spiderverse? Aside from a couple of edgy characters wouldn't it just be a forced Deadpool-inspired attempt to cash in on a micro-phenomenon?
WHat about the 53% of voters who labeled this a "fail boat?"
Snikker lives in a fantasy world where he thinks certain things are supposed to happen even though no one said they would. He then throws a baby fit once you prove him wrong and says you aren’t an auteur and that your blind. He’s an interesting chap
