Lol I can't wait to see anyone defend a movie a Venom with no Venom. If all this is true then Sony just handed the rights to marvel on a silver platter. A venomless trailer, rumors of venom not being in this for only like two mins. Sounds awful. I hope I'm wrong.

has there ever been a movie where the hero becomes the full hero at the end?

I think it is. it makes sense. most of the movie will focus on Venom and on Hardy becoming him. it all makes sense.

They are trying to make a "Cronicle" kinda movie it seems. This definitely sounds like the last Fantastic Four movie it all is adding up

Chronicle is pgood.

What gave it away?

Well, you seem to be mocking the San Francisco bit in the trailer but that's straight from the comic.

They're good books. Give 'em a read. You'll aappreciate what Fleischer & co. are doing more.

Nah, his accent is terrible but I was just asking. Curious to have such a pronounced NY accent in a CA setting.

I have never read Venom outside appearances in other comics. I like his origin but not the heroic rebranding they did to him (as I understand it).

Accent is actually spot-on. He used it in The Drop too and Gandolfini couldn't believe Hardy wasn't a real New Yorker.

Brock is originally from Cali but grew up in NYC. After he makes peace with Parker he goes home to try and figure out how to live a normal life instead of being a sociopath.

Well I’m born and raised in NY and I don’t care what some Jersey actor says. It’s a crap, cartoon impression based on the trailer. :lol

But the rest is good to know though I wonder how it comes to bare in this movie.

Like I keep telling people, Brock's little convulsion moment in the trailer is probably the moment when the "Life" company separates him from the symbiote. That's how it happened in the comics. Then after they bred 5 new symbiotes using Brock's he realizes he made a mistake and once again bonds with it only this time he has no desire to ever separate from it.

We’ll see. Right now everything in the trailer seems to support the rumors, which are not very engaging. I’d love to be surprised.

Nah some of venom’s best stories were WITH Spider-Man and him actually being a threat and stalking peter. He scared the crap out of Mary Jane and made Spider-Man run for his life. They tried to make him go solo but it didn’t work so well .

Hopefully this movie is not an origin story but it suggest that brick gets the symbiote for the first time.

If this turns out to be an origin story like the trailer suggest how will you defend these statements then?

The trailer doesn't suggest it's an origin story. At all. Listen to Brock's monologue. He wishes he had the problems of a normal person. Instead he lives with a demon. He wouldn't feel that way having just acquired said demon. It implies a long, pre-existing relationship.

I mean true. But whats up with the crash landing? Why does the government have the symbiote? I hope this surprises me and is actually Venom who had a relationship with Spiderman but those $chan spoilers align with the trailer so perfectly.

Could be a flashback to when it arrives on Earth.

Why does the government have the symbiote?

Its not the government. It's the "Life" corporation from the comic. Riz Ahmed plays a Doctor who runs their bio-genetic research program. In the books he's the one who figures out how to make the symbiote reproduce and uses candidates from his security team to bond the new symbiotes with.

It has to be, otherwise Venom wouldn't look like Venom. The time the symbiote spent with Parker is key to it's look and psychology when bonding with Brock. The stuff with Parker can be a minimal story point in the film only briefly acknowledged, but acknowledged nonetheless.

The teaser poster points to a proper Venom. Those mutated Spider-Man eyes would make no sense otherwise.

Ok snikt. I hope you're right this time cause I don't want this character to be ****ed up. So i'll wait for the next trailer and hopefully that will sway me.
