Jesus.

Total Recall was actually one of the smarter action flicks of it's time. ignore the comedy, it actually does make you think, and the details they put into the flick are really thought out.

The fact you want this one. Well. :cuckoo:
Nope, nothing "cukoo" about me thinking this trailer looked awesome. I'm only commenting on the trailer, Idunno anything else about the remake.

And all I remember of the original was Arnold in the future thinking he was good, but turning out to be bad..traveling to Mars and hanging out with mutants (one that had three boobies), then meeting the mutant leader who was a pimple on some guy's chest or whatever...which was gross.

It's been a while since I first saw it, though.

The original is very over-rated although Verhoeven did have some good moments. I tried to watch it recently and just couldn't get past the dated effects.

Yeah it's dated but it still has charm. Kinda fun to watch older movies with "big budget" effects that look like crap now compared to all the CGI stuff.

Total Recall is a perfect definition of what I consider a great "80s movie". Much like Robocop, Aliens, Terminator, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, and Predator, they are fun stories with terrific character actors and bad guys that are equally campy, action packed and didn't need every element to be grounded in reality. They are entertaining popcorn flicks, not to be watched fireside with a monocle and glass of merlot. I don't want Ghostbusters remade as a serious horror film with no comedy elements. Theres no other decade like 60s, or 70s, 90s or today where I would group movies togeather under those pretences, and I think that's pretty cool.

I agree 110%.

And while the Predator and Terminator fanboys may call me crazy, Total Recall is my favorite Ahnuld movie. Second is The Running Man. :D

Yep. And you can hate me for this, laugh at me, whatever, but if I do get into the film industry, I will bring movies like this back, in full force.

As much as I like Transformers crap, i'm sick of every single movie being like it.

Kate & Jessica.... Price Of The Admission Paid!:wink1:

MASS EFFECT the movie?

The bad guys there reminded me of Cerberus troops!

I'm not too keen on not having Mars (and possibly no mutants) as that was such a unique aspect but the movie looks pretty solid. Plus having those two chicks...SOLD!

I don't know why people get bent out of shape and feel the need to compare this to the 80s version when it's actually based on a Philip K. D¡ck story. Verhoeven's version was loosely based on that to begin with. I think this can stand on its own.

^ My only issue, is that when I talk about Total Recall, they think i'll be talking about this. Which means i'll have to add an extra word, that i don't want to add.

"So last night I watched THE GOOD Total Recall"

''OOh..der Colin Ferrell one?"

:lol

But still. They're using too similar looking things. That's my real over all issue with it. Why does the Rekall machine look so damn a like? JUST LOOK AT THE BOOK, AND NOT THE MOVIE.

This was the greatest part of the movie and now its ruined because Kate is playing that part i can not believe it, and i will not watch it :banghead

Just wait til they want to remake Blade Runner to make it more faithful and adapted to a younger generation. :monkey4

:lecture:exactly:

This one definitely seems have more of the vibe from the story (and a bit of a Blade Runner vibe, too). The original is a great Arnold film, but I'm looking forward to this as well.

Blade Runner is my all-time favorite movie, but I would totally be down for a remake that's closer to '...Electric Sheep.' Remakes don't ruin the originals for me, thankfully.
