I have to agree Riddick..

Damn.. how can I see this, when all I'll be thinking about is that lovely exotic actress who played Melina, the taxi driver who had five kids to feed, Michael Ironside, all those great prosthetic & animatronic props & effects - & all the Arnold-isms in between!! :rock

I just watched 'Minority Report' for the first time in ages the other day, & I don't mind what Collin Farrel brings in these kinds of roles.. but it's safe to say that I probably won't watch this one - regardless of how faithful it is to the book. I'm an Arnold fan to the bitter end.

Oh - & Ethan Hawke should've played the lead. :lecture

You can still love Arnold and watch this film. It won't take away from the awesomeness of Paul Verhoeven and Arnold. I have a feeling that this movie will not try to compare itself to the original, except for a homage here and there. For one, I doubt that this film will have the humor that the original had.

:lecture Not to mention the awesome clothes that people are wearing in the movie. I always love watching the sci-fi movies from the 80s just because the "future" clothes are always crazy looking.

I don't know why people get bent out of shape and feel the need to compare this to the 80s version when it's actually based on a Philip K. D¡ck story. Verhoeven's version was loosely based on that to begin with. I think this can stand on its own.

The bigger picture (for me at least) is the annoying trend currently in Hollywood to remake EVERYTHING. Even movies from just a couple years back. And it's getting worse and worse. So seeing this kinda crap just makes me less and less enthusiastic about the future of cinema.

It will stop. It's a terrible phase. But it will stop. People will get sick of it, and the numbers will drop.

They'll play it out until no one cares.

But my problem is, they're remaking GOOD movies. Why not remake movies that didn't do well at the box office? That would make more sense.

I hope they kept the important elements of the original Total Recall.

Like Kate Beckinsale's character Lori in sexy work-out gear.
