I think this looks pretty awesome!
I'll definitely give it a chance and watch it in the theatre! :rock :rock :rock

Yeah, I just watched the trailer and it looks ____ing awesome! Can't wait.

Bit of a strong word, don't you think?

Dated - sure. Terrible? Go watch 'Freddy Got Fingered'. :lol

I think you misunderstood. It's not a terrorible film, it just looks terrorible.

Trailer looks good to me. It certainly appears to be a step up from the Ahnuld version which I've always felt was overrated.

Same here. The biggest problem I have with the original was the idea that Cohagen turned Hauser in a normal everyday guy. Well, Arnold doesn't look like a normal everyday guy. He looks like a bad ass.

Colin Farrell does look like an everyday guy.

Why does effects affect :)lol) the way people think about a movie? Who gives a flying ____.

You think these effects won't look dated in a few years? Hell, most likely in a few months.

So what, the original flick was made in 1990. You judge it's effects by when it was made.

And the effects aren't why the movie is so ____ing awesome. Arnold's character, the over the top gore, the fun action scenes, the comedy, the "Is it real? Or is it a dream?" thing is also really clever when you dissect it.

Sheet. Give me Johnny Cab over Harold as McClaine any day.

Conan-check
Total Recall-check
Predator-check

Junior *fingers crossed*

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl I chuckled a lot

Add Twins to that list too :(

I bet the soundtrack won't be as good.

No chance. One of the best soundtracks ever. The main theme music is incredible!

Listen, I have mild interest in this movie. Mainly for the fact that I rank the original in my top 3 Arnold movies ever behind Predator and the first 2 Terminators (they go as one for me) and for the fact that I enjoy sci-fi in general.

I honestly hope it's going to be good. I don't mind Colin Farrell at all and like his roles in movies a lot of the time so I won't be biased in that sense. I will however be biased when basing it off of Arnold's performance and the original script.

We'll see.

Terrible? :slap

That holds up just fine for my money. Look at how fake the CGI in the 1st Spiderman and X-Men's effects look. Far more recent movies with far larger budgets and cutting edge CGI that look completely fake now.

The funny thing is that there are older movies that hold up better. Total Recall was just made poorly. You like chessy effect, great. I personally don't like stop-motion animation.

And the casting of Arnold made the plot questionable, which is my biggest problem with the film.

Stop motion > Everything. It's an awesome way to do effects. I'd love to see a big budget film use Stop Motion.
