I need to catch the reruns. Wonder if it's on Netflix.. Wasn't the first episode where he scored all the batman props?

documenting the hunt for certain grails, kinda like Hollywood Treasures.

It doesn't hurt that Tracey McCall is on that show.

She looks a lot like Jacqueline Bisset from "The Deep." (1977)

Tracey McCall doesn't look like Jacqueline Bisset, she looks like someone who got a severe bee sting reaction and leaned against a wall. Why is her face so shiny in a glamour shot?

Of course it was. :lol

Well let's hope it gets better. I'll watch the first of the regular series but my expectations are fairly low.

HAHAHA LOL.

Dude, you made my day. There's this guy who collects Hot Wheels on these other forums I go too, and he's a crazy stalker who reports our forum, and "negs" other people thousands of times on other computers. :lol

I hate them so much.

There was a new episode with a few vintage Transformers grails. Still basically the same feel as the first episode. I'm just not digging it. It's hard to get into the show no matter what collectibles are featured, purely because these guys are basically being told that their stuff is worth two times more than what they end up getting for them. Maybe they just don't have the time to list them on their own, but it's almost a chore to watch. However nostalgic the host can get over discovering something he hasn't seen in years is irrelevant; he's still the kind of poser I'd steer clear of in reality.

I agree. He does not seem interested in the toys. He is just there to make a buck. There is nothing wrong with that, but it makes for terrible television. The guys from American Pickers are very excited about their finds and go out of their way to make fair offers. There have been several occasions where they make a lot on what they pick and then give more money to the original owners.

The Toy Hunter is just a really bad person.

I'm confused as to how this is different from American Pickers and Pawn Stars? He's a dealer, just like they are - he can't pay them full price for something he has to make money off of. Not sure how that makes him a 'bad person'.

Can't speak for others, but for me the problem is that he is just annoying as all hell. He tries too hard to be funny, he lays his act on way too thick, and the constant "DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS WORST" is particularly grating. But that's not the problem. I can deal with that, as long as the show is fun to watch. Like with Pawn Stars and Storage Wars, entertaining shows where the way they behave is over the top as well, but where it's in an enjoyable, hammy way.

But that's not the case with this guy. The way he presents himself sucks all the fun out of it for me. I'm sure it's an act and that he's a sensible, smart guy in real life, but that's not what we see on TV. He comes across like an annoying little greedy, childish twat. The way he nags at some of the people to make them hand over the stuff and how he behaves when he fails in particular is just pathetic.

I tried to look past it, because the stuff he runs across and the people he talks with are interesting (though sometimes he can get his facts a little wrong), but it's almost impossible to tune him out. :gah: The lack of passion for what he does is just icing on the cake.

I can see why others find the lowballing annoying, but yeah, that's to be expected with this type of show so that doesn't really bother me.

Sucky toys on the show. YouTube reviews of statues are more entertaining. Pitu for the win.

You are right on every point.

He makes it sound like they got a great item, and then he offers them 2 bucks for it.

He made it sound like the Star Wars bike was going to make his business go broke. Really? Your business can't put out a few hundred dollars without going broke? He is a liar. He hates toys. He likes money. I doubt he even collects toys.

I wish one of the toys would go Talky Tina on his a$$!

Does anyone understand the concept of "making a profit?" You see, the key is to buy as low as possible and sell as high as possible. It's a business, not a charity. It's funny I don't see this nobility amongst collectors when I visit the commerce section here. I see people continually having to slash their prices because buyers want a deal.

Yea, this guy isn't any more annoying than the idiots on Pawn Stars, or the grating, annoying goofs on American Pickers. And Storage Wars is such an obviously staged soap opera that it's hard to believe people stick with it for more than one episode.

Jordan can be annoying on the show, no doubt about it. It might help that I know the guy (never met him, but have talked many times), so I kinda know what to expect and what he's like off the show. I just wish they hadn't gone with the American Pickers format - as I've said before, I'd really love a show where someone visits cool colections around the country, with no discussion of value or worth.
