Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

I love the movie verse more for the potential it had than what we got in the movies. The movie verse comics and books are better than the films.

The first movie is really the only solid one. DOTM improved over ROTF in some ways, but in others it was more of the same.

I've read better movie verse fan fiction than what we got in either ROTF or DOTM.

The worst thing for me in this one is Ironhide being murdered so senselessly and not even getting a mention afterward. He's my favorite, and even if the movie had been fantastic (it wasn't), I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it as much because of that.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

As much as I'm dismayed by how RotF and DotM turned out, I wouldn't be against a 4th film set in Bay's universe. Next time though, get a better writer.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

I just got back from seeing this and I enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind seeing another too Plasmid, though I'm wondering if there will be one with Shia not willing to do another one and didn't Bay say he was out too?

Here is the biggest problem, its not BAY, its these ____in idiot writers.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

You're not. I've enjoyed them all the same. People whined after the first one cause they didn't focus on the bots enough, In the second people whined the story sucked and the twins were racists despite devoting a lot of time to the bots, and now with the third we have a ton of bots, but also a simple to follow story involving to many humans, and people are still whining.

I dunno. I go to the movies for nothing more then to be entertained, and all three films did that for me.
I agree 100%. People on this site are their own worst enemies because they know all about these characters. Millions of people though went to the theaters looking for a kickass action movie and they loved what they saw.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

I looked at my girl and whispered "Ironhide is dead! That sucks!"

She just rolled her eyes at me. Heartless wench. :lol

My wife rolled her eyes at me too, but more because my Dodge Challenger is named "Shockwave".

"You named your car after a villain?"

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Went and saw this today and I really enjoyed it. A lot better than the 2nd film and the 3D was freakin awesome.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Here is the biggest problem, its not BAY, its these ____in idiot writers.

Given that Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman were credited for both Transformers and TF: ROTF, I would say you can't hang the writers on this one especially since we've seen Orci and Kurtzman go on to write fantastic things including Star Trek and the upcoming Cowboys and Aliens. As far as I can see Ehren Kruger was solely credited (at least on IMDB and the couple of TF sites I hit) as writer and he was one of the writers on ROTF so even as people are saying that this is far better than that, the same writer had a hand in both. Bay does what he does, gives us visual candy that makes you smile and talk about when you leave the theater but nothing he has helmed is fairly deep or thought provoking and that isn't his thing.

This thing made amazing amounts of cash and look for the studio to throw everything they can at both Michael Bay and Shia LeBeouf to get them both back. Remember both Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi said after Spider-Man 2 they were done, publically, over and over again and then all of a sudden they were signed up for number 3. I wouldn't be shocked if that happens here hopefully with a better film turned out or at least in the same vein as these popcorn flicks.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Any fool can direct this and it would make money. Bay is not that special, and Shia? Did we go to see TF movies for him, nope. They can get any other actors too.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Im talking the last battle scenes ONLY here, everything before that was good.I think fans, including myself would appreciate the movie more if the Autobots got more time in the final battle scenes and a epic final showdown between Optimus and Megatron rather than humans trying to save the world again, which i had zero interest in,i just wanted the human scenes to end as they were given more time than the autobots.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

____ no. Because I KNOW what they are. 2 hours of idiotic, childish, entertainment. I'll never call these movies "good". I just call them "fun".

They remind me of playing with toys as a kid. "Pew pew!" :lol

Maybe i'll hate 'em one day...but i'm not blind here. I know what they are, and what they're ment to be. :hi5:

You still are a kid. probably why you feel this way.

And what is up with people trying to play down the atrocity of these types of movies?

I grew up with G1 and I'd want nothing more than awesome TF movies with good action, good story/dialogue, and decent acting (im not asking for academy award winning level stuff, i just said "good").

Imo it is a fricken shame that some of you have so little respect for an awesome franchise that you have resigned to saying that these movies were meant to be "fun" and not good movies. Why CAN'T these movies be good??! please explain that to me because I really wanted the TF trilogy to be so much more than what it turned out to be.

Imagine a semi-serious TF movie with the same type of tone of say perhaps District 9 or something of that nature. maybe one day you will all get a clue.

I think People say that because people have little faith in Bay,not Transformers in general. It can be better if done right.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

i really felt for those birdmen/commandos on board those ospreys. sacrificing their lives to divert the enemy's attention. that was like D-Day on Normanby beachfront.

and poor que/wheeljack...

:monkey2

This franchise exists to sell toys to kids. Kids don't want to watch District 9.

Because your idea of good and my idea of good are 2 different things. I don't know why people can't get that. I wasn't expecting some deep storyline. I realize this is a Bay film and I got what I expected. For me this was a "good" movie.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Uh yeah, because im sure the major target audience is kids who probably dont even know transformers as it is not their generation. But hey, lets throw in cheesey adult humor and some nice tits and ass for those kiddies to look at so we can sell 'em some toys!

And those who grew up in the 80's with the original series are all grown up now aren't what these movies are meant for. :slap

You sir are a genius.

THANK GOD my idea of good isn't on the same low level as yours then. I totally GET IT.

I see no reason for this thread to start getting disrespectful. Do you?
