Re: Transformers 4: The Search for More Money

touché

Bay has a tendency to blow (no pun intended), stuff up.

There may be new direction for the sequel.

Re: Transformers 4: The Search for More Money

If this is accurate, I guess I would not be surprised.

Michael Bay Will Direct Fourth Transformers Film

Michael Bay is in final negotiations to direct a new Transformers film, insiders tell Vulture. In recent days, Bay has been assembling a cast for a long-gestating project that even predates Bay’s entry into planet-destroying, Pain and Gain, based on a three-part New Times story about the infamous “Sun Gym gang” a group of dimwitted Miami bodybuilders who kidnapped, tortured and robbed a Florida businessman but got their comeuppance when their left-for-dead victim hires a private eye to hunt them down. Insiders tell Vulture that Bay has been seeking to adapt the sordid revenge tale almost since its publication in 1999, and that it’s proving the major blandishment in getting Bay to commit to launching a new Transformers cycle. "Without Pain, there’s no tit for tat," explains one person familiar with the talks, "That’s Paramount’s leverage."

Another insider familiar with the situation cautioned that while Paramount “does not have a closed deal” with Bay, the studio “is not far from closing” on one either, and that an announcement could come as early as next week. Meanwhile, the details of the next cyborg saga are being kept secret, but we’re told that it is definitely not a prequel, and that it will delve deeper into Transformers canon to mine older characters and lore. "Regular people might not care about bringing out a character like Sentinel Prime," says one of our insiders, referring to the little-known character who played a major part in last summer’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, "But believe me, fans of the series cared."

If both deals make, we are told that Bay is likely to begin shooting Pain and Gain early almost immediately – as soon as early spring – and then pivot to a new sequence of Transformers by winter 2012. "Spielberg does this all the time," says our insider, "where you’re doing art development and visual effects tests on your next movie while you’re still shooting the current one. The beauty of Michael doing Pain and Gain is that there’s no [technical] complexity to it compared to Transformers."

Or, in the words of Megatron, "The humans cannot stop us!"

Re: Transformers 4: The Search for More Money

YES!

I'm always down for a movie about ass kicking robots, explosions and boobs! :D

Glad he's doing something else. I really hope this new Pain and Gain flick makes the people who hate him explode in slow motion. :lol

Transformers movies 4 and 5 with Bay

I looked for a existing thread but didn't see one.

Bay mint being coming back to shot 4 and 5 at the same time. The first 3 movies never hit the A grade but were entertaining. These will probably be at the same level or worse but AVP movies sucked yet I love them.

Michael Bay will be back behind the lens for a fourth Transformers film, Vulture reports. He's said to be close to finalizing a deal with Paramount Pictures and will likely begin work after shooting his smaller-budgeted passion project, Pain and Gain.

Word of a fourth entry in the blockbuster franchise first popped up in October, suggesting that Shia LaBeouf is unlikely to return in a leading role and that a fourth and fifth film could be shot back-to-back. Those reports remain unconfirmed.

Just yesterday, a report suggested that Bay is close to locking his leading men for the dark crime comedy with Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg. Because of it's significantly smaller scale, Pain and Gain is planned for a shoot towards the beginning of 2012, leaving the end of the year open for work on a fourth Transformers.

So what long forgotten mystical weapon left on Earth are the Decepticons going to be looking for this time?

Re: Transformers movies 4 and 5 with Bay

Something that causes explosions.

I hope this flick is all about Lennox and Epps.

Re: Transformers movies 4 and 5 with Bay

Re: Transformers movies 4 and 5 with Bay

I just watched DOTM for the first time yesterday and dayum was that woman annoying, then again so was Sam :lol ....and I swear his parents get worse every film.

Just gimme a film with lots of action, bots against bots and flying commando's, they were quite funny :lol

I'll move this thread through to the Movies section and merge it with the TF4 Movie thread.

Re: Transformers 4: The Search for More Money

I'd watch it just to see how much more craptastic they can make it though I don't see how it's possible. I'll try to view it as innovation...

Re: Transformers 4: The Search for More Money

I'm surprised Bay would sign on to do another one. Since he didn't really want to do the 3rd. I'd be burned out on that and would have to wait like 5 years to go back to it.

Re: Transformers 4: The Search for More Money

Hope Ultra Magnus & Galvatron make san appearance in the 4th installment.
