Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Actors are key. Sean Connery really helps make The Rock feel a higher level movie as far as acting goes, and even Ed Harris is a pretty solid actor and I like Cage even though many don't.

In Transformers, Shia's the only solid acting presence, I like how natural he is, doesn't seem fake at all, but even like Jon Voight wasn't at his top game at times. Josh Duhamel was about the only other solid actor and he didn't have too much dialogue. Megan's hot but she's not an actress.

Gotta agree with you. I wish Josh was a larger part of the movie, as I think he is a pretty good actor.

And I really think the Shia has come into his own. I really like him as an actor now, and can't wait to see what he does in this.

The part where he is telling his father to run is pretty frakin' convincing to me!!

I'm glad Josh Duhamel's back in this one though, be nice, I'm a little sad Tyrese is back though. Josh was pretty entertaining in Las Vegas, too bad that went off the air.

Incidentally, anyone else notice that the girl, whose car Shia bumps into when he's running with the cube who says "Did that jerk just dent my car?" and then gets eaten by her steering wheel, looks like a dead ringer for Megan Fox? Think Bay hired and consequently tapped that to make up for being only able to "watch" Megan?

Ya, the Australian chick was totally eye candy, but a bad call. Eye candy is good but use it wisely. Putting an eye candy actress in a nerdy role is too contrasting to buy it, if i weren't oggling her I'd have probably wanted to punch her And I've watched TF twice since the Superbowl on DVD, and I noticed the chick in the car that Sam hits does look and sound quite similar to Megan, it's not, you can kinda tell when she screams before the alien facehugger moment, but they could be, perhaps she's Megan's stunt double and they used her so as not to hire more people.

I just want more Optimus action in this one. Speaking of him, caught an image of the new Prime Robot Replicas figure from Toy Fair and it looks awesome, even better than last years, can't wait to add it to my collection.

I remember reading an article on AICN from Harry Knowles (I believe it was him) who was invited on set for the filming of the big climactic fight scene-- this was back when there was so much negative fan reaction to leaked images.

Anyway he was gushing about what he saw (action, explosions, cool cars, destructive tank, etc.) and while he said that Shia seemed to be doing a great job the girl in the movie was most noticeable for her tight sweater and that her acting seemed to be factor number #3 (or maybe lower) as to why she was in the movie-- which is true.

Every movie needs eye candy-- It's just too bad most of the times the eye candy can't connect with the story as an actor. Oh well, at least there are tight sweaters to wear-- with "V" necks hopefully.

What worked with Megan was her character was an eye candy piece, the hot high school girl. The Australian chick was just a really bad move. Taking a hot high school girl and making her a super intelligent hacking nerd who hangs out with slovenly, unkempt fat male nerds just doesn't work. Realistically, that role should have been a guy, Justin Long would have been great, he's a very entertaining actor and his sarcasm in those scenes would have totally made them more entertaining and interesting. If you don't know that name, he's the skinny kid in the "I'm a Mac" commercials.

TF2 will be great if they just have the right balance of Megan's hottness, Shia's antics, Josh's acting and robot mayhem.

And one final note on overdone hotness, the shot of the tightly dressed woman when they do the whole slow motion fly over in the end fight, pointless and stupid, should have had someone ducking or something, not just staring like a goofy bastard.

Saw that footage a few weeks ago but it still looks awesome. This movie, I think more than any other film this year is the one I'm looking forward to the most. This film is going to be a great Summer movie, big tub of buttery popcorn, ice cold coke, cool dark theater and away we go! can't wait!.

The shot I liked (misworded my previous comment), it was the dumbass boob chick that was pointless. If that chick had been someone, even her, crouching in fear and not staring around like some idiot with her boobs hanging out it would have been a really cool shot instead of a cool one tainted by pointless sexuality.
