Theoretically, could Prime combine with any other autobot? Did they invent that ability for the movies or has it been around since the old cartoons? Sorry if my TF knowledge seems limited. I do remember old (and recent) Optimus toys that could combine with another Transformer to build a super Optimus or something. I think the TF: Armada line of toys had one.

Has to do with the old one (Jetfire) sacrificing himself and tearing out his power center (or whatever it's called, I can't remember at the moment - my short term memory is SHOT since becoming a mother), and giving it to Prime. I guess he can then use the powers of whatever Transformer does that? That's what I got from it anyway.

(sorry for the visual spoilers - I don't know how to use that spoiler message thingy)

That's G1 stuff. There's a 1 on 1 battle in season 1 between Megatron and Optimus where Megatron uses all the powers of the other deceptions to win.

Theres a little button on the 'advanced' bar that says SPO
ILER

Which it does this...

OMG HAY GUIZ!

Oh, ha! I see it now. Thanks :duff

On another subject... $60 million on a WEDNESDAY!!??? That is UNHEARD of. Came within spitting distance of being number 1 opening day EVER. Dude, I can hear Michael Bay laughing from here :lol

I have a interesting story about seeing the film...but i'm too lazy to type it now.

Basicly I was in the theater 3 times, and every time it was packed. The whole day.

All the way until 10:20 the night of.

Yeah, I went to our 'crappy' theater (no stadium seating, bad sound quality - and a brand new fancy one less than a mile away) thinking it would be less packed (the fancy theater was sold out and I couldn't get there early enough to get in line for seats). But it was still PACKED.

Let me just say that I HATE non-stadium seating.

LETS ROLL! Classic.

I also liked the look of The Fallen and the old primes. I have no idea how they're SUPPOSED to look, but it had a very alien/Giger quality about it.

*Spoiler*

Knowing that Shia Lebouef's hand injury (broke it in an accident prior/during filming) was written into the story, did anyone else think it should have been introduced during the scene in which Megatron captures and pins Sam down (to stuff that minicon through his nose)? I kept thinking that that particular scene would have been a better fit than Sam's hand getting burned after the teleportation to Egypt.

If you remember the particular scene, Megatron held Sam down at the wrists and legs. I kept thinking while watching that Megatron should have broken one of Sam's hands. Maybe it's a bit too graphic in a film like this, but would have added a more pressing sense of danger.

I agree fully. Seeing his hand hurt in the teleportation (and where did they get wrappings for it in the desert?) instead at the hand of Megatron was disappointing.

I don't think the car crash happend then the must had already film the Megatron scene.

Had a truck come through the port this morning hauling a couple vehicle from the movie. Not Transformers this time, but vehicles from something called "The Nest".

Sorry, it was busy and I didnt have a chance to take pix this time.

The Nest is the government organization responsible for concealing the autobots and elminating decepticons.

didn't read all the posts on here but here is my take on the movie..watched it wednesday night

I have always loved transformers since i was a kid..had all the toys! I was never too in depth into the story but loved all the action and loved the cartoon for the cartoon

I watched the first movie and it was absolutely amazing!!

Part 2:

I watched it like i watch every other movie..as a movie and not picking at every small detail.. watching a movie and being so critical about every little detail that could be wrong ruins the movie imo !!

Watching this movie made me feel good again as the first one did...took me back to my saturday mornings or weekday afternoons watching transformers and GI Joe!

Optimus' Prime voice being the original from the cartoons gave me goosebumps!! amazing! OPTIMUS ROCKS!!!!!!!

I loved the action in this movie! the story confused me at certain points but i picked up on it quickly once the next scene rolled around...

Some of the action scenes when the robots were fighting i thought were zoomed in too close and made it hard to follow what was happening but the action scenes were amazing none the less.

It had it's funny moments that made me laugh like a kid. Saying that some funny moments could have been left out. The dog humping, the small decepticon humping Megan Fox's leg.. stupid! Mom eating weed brownies.. Stupid! but still good for a laugh

Megan Fox: mmmm yummmyyyy....so sexy!!! although seemed like she was more of the main star in this than anyone else.. even more than the great leader optimus prime!!

As a fan and a transformers freak.. this movie rocked! watching this movie for the entertainment and nostalgia factor was amazing! not letting the small things..like ones mentioned above bother me... I LOVED IT!!! 8/10 !!!

Will be buying it on Blu Ray!!

sorry for the long review! lol

:banana:banana

Yeah that's probably the case. Maybe they'll talk about it on the dvd/blu-ray special features. I'd like to know when during production Shia got into that car crash. His hand was busted up really bad if I remember right.

Upon my second viewing of the movie with like minded nerds who grew up on G1 Transformers, I can safely say it was just as boring as the first time I saw it. My God why couldn't someone have actually edited this thing? I can't believe a movie about giant robots (well, kind of about them) who fight one another was boring. My friends thought the same and we were the ones buying toys after the first movie just because the movie rocked. Spielberg needs to more involved in the next and have script approval to reign Bay in. Honestly I'm just super disappointed given how much I loved the first. Jetfire also annoyed the crap outta me the second time around. Ruined an awesome character. Arghhh.
