Couple real world things in the film that caught my attention, specific reference to the President being Obama, since they just hinted at Bush in the first film.

One I thought in poor taste though was the swine flu joke in the meat shop.

Upon my second viewing of the movie with like minded nerds who grew up on G1 Transformers, I can safely say it was just as boring as the first time I saw it. My God why couldn't someone have actually edited this thing? I can't believe a movie about giant robots (well, kind of about them) who fight one another was boring. My friends thought the same and we were the ones buying toys after the first movie just because the movie rocked. Spielberg needs to more involved in the next and have script approval to reign Bay in. Honestly I'm just super disappointed given how much I loved the first. Jetfire also annoyed the crap outta me the second time around. Ruined an awesome character. Arghhh.

My sentiments exactly, just got back and man was I disappointed, this was complete garbage, who wrote this ^^^^??? I grew up with TF but wouldnt consider myself a super fan by any means. The first one was pretty good, but this was terrible on so many levels. It gives you a better appreciation for the Spiderman movies. I think people who find good things to say about it are big fans just trying to justify it. It sucked so fierce on every level. I cant think of one good thing to say, only the interaction between SS and MT. FU Michael Bay

Im going to say it, GI Joe, might be better....

Starscream was a highlight for me as well. I did like certain aspects of the movie, it was just way too long and it didn't need to be. With all the stuff i didn't like cut out, it would be an hour and 45 minutes and that would be the perfect length for this film. I'm still optimistic for the third, hoping lessons will be learned. I like the way Bay shoots his action scenes for these movies. Just no more fart and humping jokes. I know to some these are just movies about robots. Not to me. I view them as aliens who happen to be built from metal and have the ability to transform. They are characters who are noble and evil. They just need to be treated with a little dignity, not background fodder to create danger for the humans to run through.

from a review I read "I didn't have a stop watch, but it seemed to me the elephantine action scenes were pretty much spaced out evenly through the movie. There was no starting out slow and building up to a big climax. The movie is pretty much all climax. The Autobots® and Decepticons® must not have read the warning label on their Viagra. At last we see what a four-hour erection looks like. "

this was my problem with the movie, no steady build, just a constant feel. there was no weight to the story nor did you care about any of the characters, it was just filled with cool moments. when prime killed the fallen, it was no different than when he killed demolisher, and that to me, is where the problem lies. it feels like a one note song. the film is enjoyable, but ultimately forgettable, which is what keeps it behind the rest of the pack in it's genre. the potential is there, it just seems like they are having a hard time finding it.

I think Bay may have gone too far with the action. I look at TF2 as a reply to not enough robot fighting and delivering a boat load, but jumping right into things. That's my chief issue with 2 vs 1, it was cool having more robot time on screen, but right from the first moments of the movie really, the action got going and it seemed almost like nothing but action without any serious character time worked in.

What autobot was this, I don't recall the name being called out.

it's sideswipe and actually lenox says it the beginning of the movie right before he comes flying out and kills sideways.

he says "get sideswipe and the twins out here!"

So many flaws so little positives. It amazes me how someone who gets the final say reads this and goes "oh ya, this is good, film this, I especially love the ghetto robots and swinging ballz, oh and be sure not to cut out his mom tackling the frisbee dudes"

^^^^ man

See, a lot of the negatives people mention here I'm fine with, like the parents humor and all that, I thought it funny in the first and I laughed in this one, sure it's juvenile but it's fun to just laugh at silly stuff, better than depressing, unfunny material. The twins, I didn't mind they're persona's, but it was too in the face, less screen time would have been fine, but they were almost, if not, the primary autobot presence on screen and not strong enough for that.

I just think there are some aspects that made TF1 so good to me that weren't in TF2 at all that really could have made it as good to me as TF1 or even better were they in it.

Action was awesome.

Effects were great.

Optimus kicked ass.

Everything else was just retarded ^^^^.

Well some stuff was funny, but a lot was...

Take Jar Jar stepping in poop and amplify that 100x.

You can tell which parts Bay wrote during the strike.

Well... I liked it.

Not trying to start an argument, but I would like to know what you liked about it?? I asked my wife, "what did you like about it", she said not much the action was cool, but thats about it...

MF I agree I like the parents quirkiness and comic relief, just it went to far, same with Skids and MF, they were ok and I have no real beef about them aside from the whole ghetto thing got carried away.

Now that Ive thought about it, the forest scene was cool, and I liked BB alot in this movie, though the whole voice thing was another blunder.

This is a great summary of my main problem with the film too - nothing really felt like a climax - there was just so much of it, that nothing really stood out.

But I'm gonna see it again in IMAX just so I can see all the cool parts really HUGE :lol

One missed opportunity in TF2, how awesome would it have been if Prime came down from the helicopter in that badass pose from TF the cartoon movie where he's got the gun aimed out in a long perspective shot of his arm looking poised to kick ass, I think movie Prime would look great in that pose.

Fair is fair, they were all over Phantom Menace for it, and this time I think its more deserved

Couldn't find a picture, but you can see what I mean in this clip, it's just so badass how he transforms in the air in the movie. I'd love to see Bay Prime do that.

I agree 110% that should be in a Transformers movie!!!!

That is the single most badass sequence in Transformers history! All the Autobots are getting their assess handed to them and Prime arives in all his awesomeness and single handedly takes down a handfull of Decepticons :rock :rock :rock :rock I still get chills EVERYTIME I watch it, and usually rewind it a few times.

Followed by the greatest piece of dialogue in Transformers history!

Megatron "Prime!"

Optimus Prime: "One shall stand. One shall fall."

Megatron: "Why throw away your life so recklessly?"

Optimus Prime: "Thats a question you should ask youreself Megatron."

I get chills jjust writting it.

BADASS!!!!!!!!!

:rock :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock

"I'll rip out your optics!!!!!!!"

Nothing they do in the live action flicks can ever match the Prime/Megatron fight from the 80's cartoon movie. It's perfection. Both characters, toe to toe, full of bravado, just beating each other to death.

So true!!! NOTHING can ever compare. Absolute prefection!

I remember crying so hard when Prime died! Tramatized the ^^^^ out of me. I hated Hot Rod forever after that. I was so angry that he got the Matrix
