There is no stem cell ban. All the "ban" was is that the government doesn't fund it. Any private person or company can do it if they have the money.

There's more to it than this. Something about only using stem cells that were harvested before 2001 when Bush "banned" it. I don't understand it all though. All I do know is it can help alot of people and I hope they can work more with it.

I totally agree, that we should be using everything we have to help people. Use as many stem cells as possible, but I'm just saying that there was never a ban on using them, just a ban of using federal funds in developing them.

Stupid ban if you ask me, but there it is.

Essentially there is a ban as no new ones can be harvested, which curtails the research extensively.
 
I know stem cell talk has been around for a looong time now, but I have to admit I'm not sure how they "harvest" them (never paid full attention I guess).

Something in the back of my mind is saying unborn babies or zygotes or something... so where exactly do they get them from? It's nuts that they're not allowed to harvest more when it seems like they are the key to curing a lot of diseases. :(
