that River is so nice...what a shame so many don't have her...

I'll do my own River at some point, but I'm really impressed by yours, Anzik! She's got the perfect expression.

Trev, I was an art major in college waaay back in the late 80's and I've done some sculpting myself, so I think I have some qualification to make this next statement.
Chris Howes River sculpt is nice. Its solid and bears a good likeness to Summer Glau, however, I have never seen anyone achieve the level of detail or so perfectly capture the likenesses of the actors and for that matter the characters as well as you have with the Firefly sculpts. I think these are your best work to date and it really shows a sincere love of the subject matter. I have every faith that your eventual River Tam sculpt will be light years ahead.
In one aspect I can't wait to see your rendering of the rest of the crew, but, as the process of completing a full figure takes some time and expense I am happy that you don't have them all done already.
I think once we get Kaylee I am doing an engine room dio complete with a striped hammock.

Got a commission set of these in hand, and they are mindblowing in person. Even in gray resin, they fill my head with scenes from the show. I'll post pics when I'm able to get around to painting these. Few things I've been this excited to start working on.

I am hoping to get this set soon...with everyones pics and critiques I am definitely anxious.
I am going to have mine painted by someone else since my skills with a brush are sub par and limited to only eye color changes or eyeliner adjustments.
I know he is interested in doing some for the other SSF members. I will post pics when they are done so if anyone likes them and needs theirs painted you can drop me an email and we can go from there.
Now I have to find some fabric for my Zoe vest...I ran out and won't be able to make the exact same one as the ones that are out there.
I even gave away my personal one to fill the last order that snuck in.

The Zoe vest fabric for my vests actually came from a vintage faux leather coat that I just tore apart. There was only so many workable spots to use on it because of the pattern design.

So now I am on the hunt again for another fabric with that carmel brown tone....

I just posted a pic of Jayne shirt I finished in comparison to Marf's bashed version...I don't want to clog up the postings here so I will keep my other clothing options in the other posting.

Trev, these sculpts are just amazing! I am hoping I'm still on your list because I am salivating at the thought of getting these!

And great work by everyone else with the painting and costuming. I'm inspired to try some kitbashing if and when I receive the heads. Something I have a great interest in, but not sure if I have any talent for it. I suppose I won't know unless I do! :D

Received my sculpts today. They are amazing!!!:rock:bow Now I need to get some cheap heads from ebay to practice painting a bit more. I wouldn't want to mess up Trevor's incredible work with sloppy paint :D

Yahool...my heads arrived and they are off to be painted. I will post some pics of them when they are finished. If anyone is interested in having theirs painted up, let me know. I am working with an artist who is willing to paint more of them up after mine are completed.

If you can, check out the Firefly Companion Vol. 2, page 110. They have a great pictures of Vera. They say she is based on a Saiga 12 automatic shotgun. I doubt that you'll find anything like it in 1/6th. You might have to build it from scratch. Almost any elaborate weapon will work for Janye. He had quite an arsenal.
