Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I'm having a hard time finding affordable boots for Mal. He's all shoe less and looks strange.

These are what I'm using, painted reddish brown. Is $6 too much?

If so, I have a pair of old Hasbro boots I can mail you for free. Like these.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

castle is a great show, but a figure isn't really anything i would need. :lol

feel the same with House...just never would have figured that as an interesting toy.

dexter on the other hand, thats a cool figure.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Hey guys, could you give good body recommendations for the figures.

I was thinking of using

Mal- HT TT
Jayne- ACE Body coz its somewhat larger
Zoe-

not sure what figure body to use for Zoe. The figures ihave currently found have ****s which look ridiculously large

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Personally I think the Mal head looks too large for a TT, So I'm using a Buck for Mal, a tall Buck for Jayne, an AA Buck for Zoe, Cuban TT for the eventual Inara, TT for Kaylee and River, Pro for the eventual Wash, Simon, and the AA narrow shoulder TT for Shepherd Book.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

i agree with Anzik that Mal's head looks too big to use on a truetype. However, if it looks good to you it does open up more options as far as the female figures go.

Anzik, I think the ****s on the truetype are too big for Kaylee and River. If Triad gets their act together I think this will be a good option.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

You're right Prog, but how many years have we been waiting for Eva?
I was even considering and Obitsu for River but I don't have any experience with them.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Wouldn't a TT Cuban body work for Zoe?

I've got an ACE body I plan on using for Jayne as well... havent' decided on Mal. But sounds like the Buck may be the way to go; who'd have ever thought that would be said again :lol

That's what I'm using. The ****s look right and the color is pretty good also. If you look at the pix of Zoe that I posted last weekend you can see what she'll look like cause that's a TT Cuban body.

Very slight build on them. Extremely long legs, slightly loose joints. I think they might be made of resin too.

I received my Mal sculpt today (a million thanks to Anzik for talking me into it). It's going to be some time before I'm able to complete the figure, but just the fact that I have this one piece to start with makes any wait worth it. I'm dumbfounded by the quality of the likeness. Even the expression is quintessential Malcolm Reynolds.

Trev, you are the man. :lecture

Damn good work.

:clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I am currently working on my Jayne and this is the one thing I wanted for him the most. So here he is...

I'll have to get better photos of him up soon.

"Man walks down the street in a hat like that, you know he's not afraid of anything."

Fantastic! I love it! Is that crocheted?! in 1/6 scale?! craziness!
Very very cool, Buffygirl,

devilof76- I'm happy to hear you like Mal! Flattered that you feel he has some expression to! Captain Tightpants can't look quite as smirky and carefree as Nathan Fillion, after all! :)

I'll be taking a hiatus from the Firefly casting run after this week. I'll be moving on the 10th, so I'll only be shipping from April 6th-April9th. After I'm settled in, I'll start up the casting run again, but there could be a month or so without castings.

That said, if you missed out this time, they'll be available later as well.

Thanks! I've started in on some of the other characters, so eventually there will be more offered.

Thanks Trevor. I was sending it to you in an email but since you've seen it, I will leave it at that. But when the new camera comes this week, better photos will be taken. And yep, it's crocheted.
