Wow, those are amazing!

I don't know who this Kuato guy is but his work reminds me of Small_Studios.

Old Grampa, did you ever get that Volks body? How is it? I'm thinking about getting some for some other figures.

I'll take a whirl. I'm thinking of doing an anime character so it may work for it. I'll send the PM.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Colors look great MJ but I think you're having the same issue that Old Granpa had in that it looks sorta bulky.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Mighty Jabba, I love the Oriental look you are going for, but your having the same problems I had. The material you used is to thick and makes Inara look to heavy. This is made worse by the thickness of the sash around the waist. Also not sure I like the purple cape with the red & gold gown.

This might help everyone.

If you scroll down this person has made patterns for lots of different stuff.

Yeah Cadaver, that's where I got the pattern for my first try at an Inara gown. If you go for that gown, go for as thin a material as you can find, and don't line the dress. The pattern is for an 18" figure. When you scale it down for a 1/6 scale figure it gets real bulky real fast, and Inara begins to look like Jayne in drag.

I am interested in trying this one instead (she only has it listed in the works in progress:

I know she used a brocade for the wrap dress, which I think would be incredibly hard to make look good just due to it's thick and stiff nature. I would imagine there's something suitable out there. I like the gold/red as you only would need that type of fabric for the bolero/underbust jacket part, the rest would be light fabric with chiffon. I dunno... I used to make doll clothes years ago for my Barbies and I'm kind of excited to try getting back into sewing for small people.

Cadaver's got the clothes down for the dudes, now I kind of want to make something pretty. :p
