The price on these basic nude bodies are $35 pre-ordered and $40 at retail.
Expensive but not a bad price for fairly revolutionary figures. I look forward to buying a couple of them.
:chew

Considering I'd probably only use them where you have nude torsos and/or arms (i.e. a custom Mystique, Darth Sion, Aayla Secura etc) I think that's a pretty good price.

I hope they plan to make some "celebrity" heads to go with these bodies as the regular bashed Dragon heads won't work.

Well that headsculpt for the first custom wasn't actually done by CustomDawg - he commissioned it off someone ages ago - the details used to be on his personal website. Given that its being used on his production figure I suspect the sculpter might be onboard with the company in some way shape or form - so with any luck we might get a range of heads like Hero Heads provide - that would be absolutely sweet!

And to clarify that I am not exaggerating about the emaciated thighs and knees, I give you this pic:D :

JustinLuck: "Hey Doc, I got a real problem here. Whenever I pose Jedi Luke like a ballerina fairy princess his legs look real skinny! Any advice?"

Doc: "Yeah, don't pose him like that."

Just FYI, that pic was meant as a joke. :)

You are correct. CustomDawg (Louie) has partnered with Erik Barclay (Darth_Callous on RS), who did the head sculpt -- they ARE Triad Toys. I just read a post in RS that said the heads will be mass produced but not for some time as the new neck joint requires adjustments to the heads. Apparently, the bodies go on sale in November...but we may have to wait on heads to with them.

I believe the "Kuroikage" head sculpt is from Hayashi and I doubt that one will be coming from Triad.
The Star Wars head sculpts are from Erik and I do think those will be some of the first ones from Triad.
Erik has made some amazing sculpts, I have his Darth Maul head and it's perfection. I also have a Portman head that I suspect is from Erik (it's also perfect), I bought that one off Ebay.

To see some of his Star Wars work, go to his website:

louie said yesterday on MWD that the natalie, hayden and sam heads will not be on these bodies when the go on sale in november. he first said these particular heads are not for sale. later on a few posts later he said they may see production later on.

do you have a photo of the portman head?

Drat, I would've liked to have figures sporting those sculpts. I hope they don't have generic head sculpts, I'd only be interested in these if they look like actors.

I don't have a pic, I should've saved that pic from the auction. It looks just like her as she appeared in the Arena from Ep. II with her hair in looped braids in the back, It's also perfectly in scale. The neck post is made for a Dragon style female body.

That Nat head sounds like one that eydylhands did.

yea, if it has the dragon neckpost, it's the eydylhands version.

the sculpt is good, but it has it's problems. the triad version is far, far superior. i'm defiantley interested to see sideshow's version.

the triad figure is the definate natalie portman figure. it even has her bodystyle.:monkey5

Ah so it's an Eydylhands sculpt, thanks for the info guys. It looks perfect to me, but I wouldn't miss the Sideshow version even if it's a worse sculpt, I still need a costume for the head (looks like I'll be buying two).

I see that you edited your post, I was going to reply but my 'puter went nutso at the time.
I think I remember the seller I bought it from was located in Texas. It's not Lonnie since he is located in Georgia, would that be where you're located Captain Sack?

yep. i commissioned the head from eydylhands and about 40 heads were made. i sold most of them on MWD a few years ago and the extras went to ebay, but i do see lonnie selling a few every so often.

a revision of this head was done a little later to fix the lopsided ears, clean up the tool marks and correct the neck, but i still wasn't happy with the revision, and now that sideshow is making a padme, i didn't see any point in spending more money trying to get it right.

Actually he had pictures of Kuroikage up as his first pre-order figure - but the cart wasn't working on the site and it appears the page may have been published in error (as I can't get to it now)- but it does seem that you WILL be able to get that one. He just needs to get some pictures of the doll with his new body - the old pics were of his custom figure (as you could tell from some of the articulation).

Well, I don't know if anybody's tracking, but I am down for some of these bodies, so add a hash mark to the tally. These will take the curse off many outfits. I mean, the Crazy Horse that was part of the Six Gun Legends series -- ? :lol
