[*]a fairly large plot hole (I'll mention in invso-text below) and a character-change that seemed awfully abrupt...now, that plot hole: (highlight to read: How was it that Quora could end up in the "real world"? That just seemed like a quick contrivance to provide that Disney-mandated "happy ending"...and what was with Tron's sudden change of allegiance in the midst of that aerial battle? It just kinda happened...

If you can accept the fact that a HUMAN BEING was morphed into the grid via the ENCOM laser, then you should have no problem accepting that a computer program can come out of the grid as a physical being.

With that said, in order for a human to even return from the grid they need their identity disc; that is their key out of the grid, to be reanimated by the Laser. Quora was given Flynn's and she used his identity disc to be able to literally become human and transform into bone and tissue in the real world (yes it might be hard to believe, but it's no different that most of the other unbelievable things in the film).

That's an interesting take on it. A line or two in the movie thrown out there supporting that idea would've helped, but I'll buy that.

Well, there is the part where Flynn says that Clu would need his disc to get out. Then when they are on the Clu's flagship Flynn says "He's figured it out". So it's not simply that one program can get out with a users disc. All programs can get out if the program that has the disc decides to use it that way.

yeah it's explained when I think Kevin is talking to sam about what Clu's plan is... to get the disc and get out into the real world. So that's what happens at the end just not with Clu.

I can not WAIT for this to come out on blu ray :rock dying to see all the behind the scenes stuff, it'd better be a full 2 disc set!

I think Legacy kinda forgot to mention that the lazer is really the doorway. Not Flynn's computer or arcade. I'm sure people who have never seen the original or don't remember, needed a refresher.

Even if they didn't want to verbally explain it, they really should have filmed the "rabbit hole" scene.

If you want to get technical and nerdy, its actually the laser that is the remarkable technology of the Tronverse. Once you buy into a laser being able to digitize and then reassemble something in the real world, your hooked in for the rest of the possibilities.

The thing I have a hard time with is that such a technology would not have been disbanded lightly. Supposedly once Flynn took control of Encom, he decommissioned the laser experiment. But if Flynn was truly interested in helping the world, the laser itself would change the world.

Simple-Quorra is an (ISO Alien) an interdimensional spiritual being, which is why she was able to enter into the real World....if anyone listened to the story..The ISO'S were declared as Aliens...'special' beings that would change the real world.Of course labelled as Aliens, because 'they' want the Public to believe Aliens are and will be Our Saviours..

Flynn was the Creator (god) and Clu was created in the image of Flynn.
Clu metaphored Lucifer, who ultimately rebelled and wanted to do his own thing and leave the Grid (interdimensional spiritual world disquised as programs)....which also explains Flynns 'Zen' (god-like powers)

sounds bullshinto to me.:lol

I.

There's a reason he might have decommissioned it, "according" to Tron canon in the game, (Tron 2.0, not Evolution) Lora(chick from the first movie) got half her body sucked into the computer world, and then died. Obviously.

You could count that, or you can assume Flynn wanted to keep the Laser a secret until he can figure out it's full potential, and how a person couldnt wander in, hit a button, and zap themselves in. He wasnt there yet. :lol

I'd think the full scope of the laser would be greater than going in and out of the digital world.

If you can digitize and undigitize a person, then my logic says you could probably create something via digital tools, then use the laser to make it come to life. I think thats basically the crux of CLU's plan.

So if thats true, then the laser technology could be used to create food, or minerals, or whatever.

Obviously I'm taking the power of the laser way beyond the purpose it was created for the film, but thats probably my biggest loose end I would like wrapped up in a future film.

I'm sure the reason he programmed his disc to allow programs to exit WAS for the Iso's. You can reproduce them, and stop a number of dieases, or illnesses.

If I was the science advisor on the film, I think I would emphasize that matter cannot be created from nothing, thus that is why the laser can't be used to create things out of the digital realm, however...since the ISOs were created from nothing, that makes their appearance in the real world possible too.

God created the heavens and the Earth from NOTHING

What is funny is that most people just roll their eyes at Teemu when he posts (I personally love it) but I remember right after Tron: Legacy premiered both Jeff Bridges and Olivia Wilde did a lot of press about the Spiritual Connections and Allusions within the story itself so he may not be that far off....from a certain point of view.

Let's be honest though as jaded as most of the world is right now, they could do the Story of Christ in an Alien or Computerized setting and people would dispell a connection. :lol

I have my disagreements with Teemu pretty often, but in this case it's pretty obvious that the movie draws elements from a lot of religious literature, as many Sci-fi/fantasy movies often do...
Like Matrix, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc...
But that's it... no secret Hollywood agenda though... :lol!

glad you finally realize this....but the secret is...INDOCTRINATION...
especially the youth,to push a false christ, and push many false religions.Ideas do not just come out of nowhere,as majority of the time they are taken from history or events and sometimes they even predict/forecast future events. There is a physical and spiritual agenda, but many refuse to believe it.

If that were the case,
it's been going on for thousands of years with no purpose at all...
no end in sight...
Indoctrinate people for what?... :dunno...
Alien invasion?
Lucifer's coming?
Plants taking over?...

Not-gonna-happen...
