The doc mentioned something to the affect that once you had been scratched the komodo waited for your to die and then come back for you, maybe thats whats happened to Daphne??

i dont think so, she didnt seem sick at all. i think its like when a werewolf bites you, you become a werewolf. and thats why her cuts on her back were like scars.

Could be. But in the previews they show Daphne whispering to Sam "I know what you are". If she was just an unaware victim/food..I doubt she would have insight into the supernatural world. Not to mention, you have to look at it from a show point of view. They brought her in out of nowhere....she has a purpose and I doubt its just to be food. Kinda like Hoyt. He has been in nearly every episode so far and up until, last night was a pointless character....

I'm sure something will happen with Jason and the preacher's wife, but I don't think they'd have it happen off screen.

And I don't think Sookie will be in danger of transforming. Daphne had the scars, but we saw that the vamp blood cured her, and the doc got all the poison out.

Yeah they made a point of Sookie looking in the mirror at her back and seeing she had no scars. Most likely we are to assume that Daphne is infected, and Sookie is fine.

Well yeah, but originally Bill's bloodwas killing her. I think the healer took care of the were disease which allowed bill's blood to heal her. So I think the mirror shot was indicating that Sookie wouldnt become the monster.

I agree. the doc fixed the were issue. Sookie isnt in any danger of turning. I was a bit dissapointed that lafeyatte didnt get turned tho. but seeing the preview of Eric outside his house was an interesting turn of events. should have known they wouldnt let him go.

True Blood is by far the best show to come out on TV imo is quite some time. I have read the books and I can say that this season is only about 50% true to them so far. I love the fact that Lafayette is still alive. I gotta admit I was disappointed that he did not become Vampire. I would have loved to see him Move the Heavens and Earth Go-Go style at Fangtasia. I cannot praise Alan Ball and the Actors enough for this show. It has put a whole new twist into the Legacy of Vampires.

It really is a great show! I had a strong feeling the show would quickly separate from the books. If you do a movie there is a lot of pressure to get as close to the book as possible and people don't mind wasting 2 hours watching a theatrical interpretation.

With a show everything is drawn out into weekly episodes and you want to keep it going as long as possible. Which means people that have read the book will be getting bored if nothing new happens. So it just makes sense to take the concept and keep people guessing. Not to mention by spreading the show out you allow for fan guided changes. Meaning if people LOVE the Lafayette character...well you keep him alive. A book doesnt really give that psuedo real-time change up possibility.

Im still not convinced he WONT be turned. First of all Sookie only asked that Lafayette be set free and that they not hurt him which they have done.

Second, in the previews Eric shows up at Lafayettes house and seems to be waiting for him. He could techincally change Lafayette without breaking his word to Sookie!

Third, someone in the previews attacks Jason Stackhouse...and when he talks sounds KINDA like Lafayette....

I can't see Lafayette attacking Jason since his sister saved his life. Maybe it just seemed like he was attacking him but he was just trying to warn Jason. You know how jason overreacts.

Could be, but the way I interpret True Blood vampire lineage is that you cannot refuse the will of the vampire that turns you. Even if you don't like it....kinda like an uber glamour effect.

SO, here is what Im thinking...which is probably WAY off. Eric turns lafayette. Forces Lafayette to hurt Jason Stackhouse. Sookie finds out a vamp hurt her brother. Sookie leaves Bill because she can't stand the vamp thing. Eric is free to use Sookie as his own without any complications from Bill. Also, this pushes jason completely down the vamp hunter path....

I agree, from what we've seen of Lafayette, he is not the kind of person you cross. Especially since he and Jason are and was put in harms way by him.

I'm gonna guess that the guy attacking Jason is the Lukanater McDonald. Not like the restaurant or the farm. I can't remember off hand but I dont think that Lafayette seen light with Sookie and Bill. It could be that he is already turned by Eric and he is coming to Lafayette's house to teach him the ways of being Vamp. It will be very interstering to see where it goes. I have read the books and could tell you what happens, but since this season doesn't even use the book other then the whole missing Dallas Vamp, I can't. Guess we'll see what happens in a couple weeks. I can't wait. I have not had a TV show spike my interstet in quite some time as True Blood does.
