The moon thing is true. I've seen the ads on billboards and tv. They will supposedly cast it on the next full moon.

Also, I think advertising in general is pretty common in movies and such these days. I was watching Appleseed Ex Machina yesterday and noticed several Japanese toymaker ads in it, including Takara Tomy (on the blimp thing that flies around outside).

According to your link, it is all an advertising campaign, and is a hoax. I was worried there for a second...

Well then I would like to know what the hell it was I saw......was it part of this elaborate hoax??? it wasn't top notch...but more like those huge lights they use when there is a grand opening somewhere and you can see the lights rising up for what seems like a mile.....somehow they were able to project an image up there....it was fuzzy...but it was there. Oh well...hopefully it was some kind of prank and that will be the end of it. :) I hope anyway.

Was it perhaps shining on clouds?

Jen... how much did you "ingest" on the night you saw this :lol

But seriously, fear of moonvertising his quelled a bit of my annoyance about DVD advertising... maybe that was the point all along :lol Ill, are you part of the DVD advertising push?!?

You were the Guinea Pig for their 'Beamvertising' Jen, you were the first subject to have an Ad Beamed directly into your brain! Congrats!! :clap :D

I hate advertising, so much that I wont watch live TV. I'll record something to my Pioneer Hard Drive recorder, delete all the ads and then watch it.

I also have a rule for ads in the cinema, they're now showing a rake of ads before the trailers, then the trailers and then more ads. My solution? I refuse to buy any product advertised on screen in the cinema.

Screw em!

I get really frustrated with recent anime dvds I bought which won't let you skip the commericals up front, no matter how many times you've played it.

And on a Disney blu-ray the first promo they have for their other blu-ray titles is unskippable.

I had noticed that on some Anime disks... the annoying part is I kinda like getting trailers (and seeing them before movies) but you shouldn't have to be forced to watch them before a DVD you purchased.

And back to the original point :)lol) unrelated TV commercials should have no place on movies you buy for home viewing.
