Twilight Witch King LS Bust!!

Looking at thoise three pics I cannot imagine why anyone could say that the SS version is closer to the pic in the middle.The Weta version is not perfect but is way,way closer in my eyes.As others have said,its probably best to disagree to agree on this and those who have ordered it..I hope you enjoy!!

It's been 6 weeks now and still no ES set for the WK bust. I can't ever remember waiting this long for an ES to be set. Can the sales be that bad

And the weird part is that there is no sculptors mentioned for this piece either on the product page.

Yes I noticed that as well. Also there is no Ministry of Info article anywhere on the website. I thought I saw one there the last week in Nov. but maybe I was wrong. Still pretty weird as it's the only LOTR product not to have one since SS started creating these articles

Interestingly enough, it's currently not even listed on the main LotR page in the LS Bust section. You have to hit the 'complete listing' link or scroll down to B&W Friday.

...but I don't care what you all say, I'm still getting it.

Not particularly wishing to stick my head above the parapet again, but just seen the GG WK bust. It looks a lot more like the Weta statue than the SS bust.... Are those done by scanning the actors??

I'd love to know just how accurate those "most popular" lists are? This bust has been taking a beating since about 20 seconds after the pic's were released. Popular is not a word I would use to describe it.

I totally agree with you! I think this bust looks blown-up, and tied up around the middle...

Thanks for the hi-res pics J. Looking at those pics I found something that does trouble me more than anything I've noticed previously. There's a gap between the bottom of the crown and the hair. Since the pictures are blown up, it'll be interesting to see how noticable this is in person.

I just personally can't get into this piece. Its just not one of the better pieces I've seen coming out from SS so far in their new LOTR lines.

Certainly an issue to be concerned about. You can also see the brass post that holds the crown in place. That had better be fixed 'cause if I get one looking like that I'll be sending it back.

My greatest issue with the bust isn't the sculpt itself [which seems to be the biggest complaint of most people], it's the pathetically lame base. What does placing him on a base with elvish writing on it have to do with the witch-king? Where's the nameplate and the theme-related base [in this case weathertop] we have gotten with every other "bad guy" LSB SS can put whatever spin they want to on this, but this has all the feeling of something they have rushed into production, and IMO it's where they really dropped the ball with this bust

Really though, well said about the base I love the look of this bust despite the majority apparently not liking it but I do think the base is just not right for this character!

Ha ha Woodsy very good, but really, don't let me hold you back and besides, you'll save me the banter!! Of course there will be times when I can't help but join in in defense or attack about something but I have to say I have been in agreement with you on this bust for some time now. I'm really looking forward to it! Wonder what the ES will be on it, we still don't know which is a fair while now since its announcement, just shows that SS really must pay close attention to this board and its feedback, maybe they are having second thoughts on their original ES whatever that may have been, who knows.
