so machida still has never been hit huh? even though rampage is my man, i think silve vs machida would be the fight of the year hype wise, even bigger than the GSP fight cause Silva is the best fighter in the world still. if machida beats rampage, i think we will see it

1st round: mostly flinching and dancing. Only highlight was Machida dropped Evans with a left.

2nd round: Machida rocks Evans with a left and I think an uppercut, drops Evans. Swarms him.. punching him trying to control Evans.. Evans gets up but Machida rushes him to the cage and unloads with a left hook and more punches. A HARD right hand lands followed by some more punches than a left hook on the side of the jaw lands that puts Evans completely out at 3:57 of the second round. Evans fell crazy too. Ragdoll type of ish.. Evans was dominated and destroyed.

YEAH!!!!!!! go Machida!

Nope.. unless I missed something, still hasn't been hit with a power shot since the fight with B.J. Penn. Crazy.

I'll give this to Rashad: dude has an incredible F'n jaw!!! I'd go as far as saying most LHW's in the UFC would've been done when Machida first dropped Evans in the second round.

i just worry that rampage is bad matchup style wise, but everyone knows all it takes is one shot, but i think silva is even quicker than machida and has better stand up. there is still no definitive best in the LHW division.

Damn machida made me proud! I had to check myself after yelling because the wife was asleep on the couch. but man that was one of the most exciting fights for me in awhile.

Glad to see hughes get the W as well.

As for Sherk....boggles me why he insists on boxing when he is so gifted in ground and pound.

Evans actually hit Machida on multiple occasions so saying Evans didn't land a shot is a falso statement. Secondly Hughes looked scared the whole fight, Serra wanted to slug it out but Hughes did takedown and hold Serra there and win by control, don't talk ^^^^ if your going to do that. Hughes is done, Serra actually has a future in Welter and Light. Whoever said that Sherk was stupid for just standing there was right, he clearly wasn't winning and his standup has been proven wrong but o well. I'm glad Machida won though, i'm tired of all those people saying Evans is the ^^^^ just becausew they saw the replays of his KO of Chuck over and over again. Serra looked realaly good tonight though, i just don't understand why he uses his BJJ as a defense and not both.

Edit: And Machida vs Anderson Silva is a horrible matchup if Anderson keeps fighting the wat he does. If we get old Anderson back then it's a different story. We will see with the Forrest fight how Silva's additude toward fighting is. If he plays it safe again then all of his belt defenses should be a co-main event.

No, we're talking about significant, clean POWER shots to the head. Machida hasn't been on the receiving end of a meaningful, clean power shot to the head since he fought B.J. Penn. Unless I missed something I didn't see Rashad land anything flush or significant to the head. And so you fully understand sscalltheway: Machida HAS been hit, even against Evans with jabs, leg kicks etc. but he's never taken a full on flush Punch, Kick or Knee to the head with Power since he fought B.J. Penn. And that's RARE.

As far as the whole Machida vs. Silva talk: it'll never happen. Ever. Both have said so.

nope Evans only hit him with a couple of pepper shots and that is about it. oh and one strong kick to the body.

Devil you got a link to the machida vs penn fight? I'd like to see that again, its been awhile.

Gotta agree about Machida vs Anderson, both counter fighters. I rather see Wandy fight either.

The Hughes/Serra fight was close. I though it would be a split decision, but I was giving 1st & 3rd rd. to Serra, but a really close fight. I wish the UFC went 5 rounds for co-headline fights.

I was really surprised at Rashads gameplan of siting back and waiting to counter vs a counter fighter.

Same here man, but o well. Serra clearly still has it while Hughes is looking worse and worse.

:lol:lol:lol

Funny statement seeing as Hughes won the fight.

Hell aside from the throw at the end of round 3 Serra's best attack was a incidental head butt.

Well at least we know whose a Hughes fan:rolleyes:
Hughes controlled Serra, that's it. Serra did more damage, went for submissions and actually improved his position. The headbutt affected both people. Serra dropped Hughes with punches also and not just a headbutt.

And we know whos not a hughes fan

If serra did more damage then how did hughes win the fight? Hughes took him down at will 90% of the time, and controlled serra on the ground. if it weren't for the headbutt serra probably would have not dropped hughes or landed those big shots right after. bye bye serra.

Hughes shot in on Serra on pressed him up against the cage. Takedowns 0/1, then once Serra was on the cage he tripped on grabbed a single and took him down. Serra has a future plain and simple Hughes doesn't. In his post fight interview he says it will be interesting to see who wins th GSP vs. Alves fight, like he has a chance at either of those dudes. Serra should drop down to LW and really add some spice to that weight class. Hughes should retire. bye bye hughes.
