I knew he would find an excuse, hes thinking ahead....

Faber broke his hand in several places, so he wasn't faking anything or making excuses.

Here is why he had the huge lump on the back of his hand the bone was pushing up on it!

I think if his hands worked too that he probably could have ended it, not by KO but by submission. He had a lot of guilotines he could have secured on Brown but his hands were to messed up to secure it.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. It sucks. you think they would have stopped the fight if it was actually stopping him to win. I think it sucks that he didn't really have a fair chance but he held his own.

Yeah he came really prepared. He must have held his hand open a little on the punch or something because Faber's hands are probably extremly tough (like most profesionals) from hitting the bags and what not. It just stinks it ended this way. Now if they fight again and Faber does win Brown will want a rematch. Faber vs Brown 4? The WEC will probably milk this.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm not making excuses for Faber. He won't make them for himself but I have to say that Brown staight up caught him the first time by Faber being sloppy and turning into a fist. If he would have watched where Brown was Brown wouldn't have caught him. And now in the rematch he breaks his hands. Brown never really beat him straight up. You can count the first if you want but this time isn't fair. He was basically defenseless. But I have no doubt that Faber will beat Brown in part 3 if he could do as well as he did without hands.

A question:

Does the Brett Rogers TKO of Arlovski diminish Fedor's KO of Arlovski and in turn his P4P ranking?

Please discuss.....should be good for 2-3 pages.:lol

:dunno :dunno :lol :lol :lol

:lol Brown has never beaten Faber straight up? The first time he beat him was straight up. There were no broken bones to nullify the win.

You say that Faber got 'caught'. Well umm, yes...that is how someone loses in MMA. They GET CAUGHT. Faber did a move, and Brown did the appropriate counter and was on the mark with his big right hand.

You treat this sport as if it is ballet or something....These are two guys going in there to rip each other's heads off. If someone breaks their hand in the process, why should the other guy be held liable for that?

Lets wait for the Barnett fight. Barnett could easily win. I'm not picking this fight, may the best man win. I just wanna see an awesome fight. Barnett has a good chin and good submissions, its gotta be a decision. Two of the best HW in the world its gotta be good.

Why wait? Discuss now. No one is waiting until Silva's or GSP's next fights to discuss where they rank as the best P4P fighters.

didn't say he's "liable for that" I'm saying if it was impairing his chance to win they should have stopped it. I've seen fights stopped for less.

Why would you want them to stop the fight? Faber is a champion, and he would not want to go out like that. These guys don't train their asses off for 3 months and then want to throw in the towel because of an injury. They are all dying to fight it out, and any loss to them is unacceptable.

You seem to think that there is a 'perfect' fight for everyone, and if all the conditions are not perfect the fight shouldnt count. well guess what, in the real world ^^^^ happens all the time. fighters fight with lingering injuries all the time. The most recent one I could think of is Frank Shamrock fighting Baroni with a torn ACL, which he obtained weeks before they fought, but he still went in there to fight and he won big time. Rampage's jaw was injured but he still stepped in there against Jardine. And like Nasdeo said, Riggs broke both hands against Baroni and still gave him a can of whoop ass.

I don't think there's a perfect fight. I know **** happens, I'm not saying it doesn't. But if it was impairing him to win where all he could do is slap and not lock in submissions I think it impaired his ability to win. A ref stopped a fight against Ortiz and Shamrock because Shamrock had a swollen face but could still fight perfectly. So why continue a fight if a dude's hands are broken and it's impairing his ability to win?:dunno

It definitely diminishes Arlovski. That's for sure.

As for it diminishing Fedor's KO of Arlovski, last time I checked it didn't matter how fast you beat someone. He was still KTFO. But what it shows is that KO'ing Arlovski is nothing special. I saw quite a few people point that out like it was significant.. and it's not. Arlovski has 7 Losses in MMA, 6 were (T)KO losses. Hell his first MMA fight he was KTFO. He has a glass jaw. And to put it into perspective regarding Fedor: In his entire career, Fedor has never KO'ed any fighter standing. Arlovski was his first.

The only reason you'll see people bringing up the fact that an unranked Rogers KO'ed Arlovski faster than Fedor is because Fedor fans (Including this sites self proclaimed MMA Expert NASEDO) were quick to point out that Fedor beat Tim Sylvia faster than anyone else. And used that misc. tidbit to further push their biased claims that Fedor was Z0mG teh best eva!!!11!!!

Now you see those same people very quiet about the Arlovski/Rogers fight. Just like if Buentello (unranked) beats Tim Sylvia.. you'll see those Fedor fans disappear until the storm calms.

Why? Because these people use those two guys (Arlovski and Sylvia) to justify Fedor's #1 HW rank and #1 P4P rank. See before them (Sylvia: 07/19/08, Arlovski: 01/24/09) the last time Fedor fought a relevant AND ranked Top 10 Heavyweight was back in 2005. August 25th to be exact vs. Mirko Cro Cop. So almost 3 years vs. unranked and irrelevant opponents WHILE holding no major MMA titles since December 31, 2006 (last PRIDE HW Title Defense). Yet in that entire time, not only did he maintain his #1 HW Rank.. he also maintained his #1 P4P rank with these fanatics. Then when he finally fought Sylvia and Arlovksi.. his fans said "See? See? Fedor fights Top Competition!!! Z0mG!!!1!!!!"

Only problem? We just saw Arlovski lose by (T)KO in 22 seconds to a guy who isn't even a Top 20 HW. And Tim Sylvia.. man this guy was absolutely mauled by a 45 yr. old man and he was also tapped out by Big Nog BEFORE fighting Fedor.

I don't have a problem with Fedor being ranked #1 at HW even though I personally believe his rank should've slipped for inactivity and not fighting Top 10 HW fighters in 3 yrs. But if he's ranked #1 HW. Fine. That's not the problem.

The problem is his fans blindly believing he should be ranked #1 P4P and in general the best fighter in the world. That's BS. His competition has never been stellar when he FOUGHT THEM.. that's why Fedor fans use what a fighter did in the past to exaggerate how significant that win in the present is for Fedor.

Meanwhile the other 2 big names in the MMA P4P debate (GSP and A.Silva) have been fighting and beating Top 10 fighters in their divsions. Clearing out their divsions. AND defending major MMA titles (Sorry but Fedor's little WAMMA title is not significant or major by any stretch of the imagination).

Long rant I know.. sorry. :lol

SHORT VERSION
Arlovski gets KTFO if the wind blows too hard.

:lecture.........hopefully when that happens, there wont be anymore talk that hes the best P4P fighter

Doubt that. People will still say "GSP lost. A.Silva lost." etc. etc. Fedor will always be the #1 ranked HW and P4P fighter until he dies + 5 years after that. No matter how many times he loses in that time, no matter how much he avoids fighting in the UFC and no matter how much other fighters do. He'll always be #1 and when he dies he'll ascend to the Heavens where he'll armbar God for attempting to judge the Last Emperor.

Or so I've read.

Oh yeah.. I think it's already been confirmed: Roy Nelson (IFL/Elite XC/Affliction) and Wes Sims (Former UFC Fighter) will be joining Kimbo Slice for The Ultimate Fighter 10.
