I agree this shouldve been a free Fight Night... but overall I thought all the fights were good to watch. Nothing really boring .... and first time Ive ever seen a real Pile Driver used ......

Anyway I think the UFC is finally getting alot of competition from other organizations. Elite EC got alot of talk from its CBS show. PRIDE is basically back with DREAM. And the 1st Affliction card July 19 https://www.afflictionclothing.com/banned_july19/fight_card.php is awesome, Can't wait.

The Affliction card is stacked. I have been looking forward to it since they announced Fedor vs Sylvia.
Its looking to be the best MMA event of the year.

It never aired in my area.
Had friends over to watch it and everything but my local CBS had some other dumbass show on instead ...

You really didnt miss much Occ. IMO, it was a generally weak show, and Slice as a main event was weak ass hell! Dude is getting WAY to much attention for a guy with 3 fights.
I have been watching EXC for a little over a year and they have had 10x better events of Showtime. Overall I thought it was weak, there were early stops,IMO, a bad main event, & Gina looked terrible, though she won.
The 3 Dream events blew the CBS EXC show out of the water.

Do you have HDNET? They show a ton of MMA shows. I have gotten to watch the Dream events live, Dream 4 is in couple weeks to, or maybe a month, I forget.
This is a great time to be a long time MMA fan. For years it was UFC or nothin'. Then we had Pride and UFC, now we got a crap load of orginizations.
Did you to watch the Pulver Faber fight? That was pretty damn good. WEC has had some good events too.

Christ, the Elite XC only got talk because of how horrible it was. That Kimbo fight was trash! And CBS has to stop fights if they get to out of hand and bloody!
Well, DREAM looks sick, but it's only shown in Japan right now, unless you got HD.Net. And Affliction/Adreneline will definitely pull in big viewers, but they are coordinating with the UFC so they don't shedule conflicting airing nights!
But I don't really see huge amoounts of viewers being pulled away from the UFC. At least Affliction/Adreneline have some good UFC fights and some good PRIDE! fighters.
And the WEC has good fighters and events, but Zuffa owns then, so it's just money in their pockets.

The Kimbo fight got alot of talk, I got alot of calls from non-MMA people talking about him. He is definetly Marketable. If he fought Chuck Liddel it would be big money for the UFC. However Kimbo needs alot of work. But he will get alot better training with Bas Rutten. It's like the fighters from UFC 'Spike' TUF show, Forrest, Koscheck etc., they got 10x better in a short time since their are able to train with the best. I know people are pissed because Kimbo got a main event spot with only 2 fights, I understand.

Elite was free on a major network though and the fights were entertaining...the skill wasn't UFC standards but only MMA fans know that, a new viewer wouldn't be able to tell. if dana white wasn't trying to ruin the UFC he would have had the UFC on that network. i'm tired of paying out the ass to get the UFC events...although i'm always excited when they are on spike. i didn't get the UFC event last Sat. because I didn't see enough fights i wanted to pay for...although i would loved to have watched it on HBO or Showtime...i wish the UFC would get a deal with HBO. get with the program DANA!

Personally, I dont care to see MMA on network TV. Just my opinion, but I understand it is good for the growth of the sport, but I liked it better when not a lot of people watched MMA. Now it seems like every ****** you talk to is an MMA expert. Now with it going to network TV its gonna be even worse.
