Just watch the fights, glad I didn't order. Of course another GSP lay n pray fight. Once Serra popped his chin, GSP will not stand with a striker. Ok, GSP is a smart fighter, and also a very good one, and some like that kind of so called technical fight but I thought it was boring. Would love to GSP move up in and fight Anderson Silva.

I like to see a fighter beat a fighter at his own game. Like with James Toney, the easy way out is to take him down n GnP, or submit, but I would be more impressed to see someone KO Toney. I feel GSP took the easy way out, can't blame him to take a safe victory. Just not impressed from his victory against Hardy who some thought never deserved a chance.

Carwin looked good, his fight v Lesner may be worth ordering.

True, but whats worse IMO, is when the fighter makes the fight technical, then he apologies for making his win not 'exciting enough' because of the "fan" reaction. I would pull a Lesnar and tell them to f' off.

I dunno, it reminded me of Kratos pummeling Hercules.

I doesnt help when your opponent does nothign to engage the fight either, its not like Hardy came out in ay of teh rounds and tried to bang, he essentially let GSP take him down, with ease at that

Well if I was in the octagon and I put months and months of hard training into it, I wouldnt want to risk getting KO'd if I knew I had a clear advantage on the ground, especially as a champion, it just doesnt make sense. GSP is a better striker than almost everyone in the division, but its not his best asset, so I just dont understand why anyone would think he would go away from what makes him unbeatable. You have a guy like A. Silva, hes great on the ground, but his best asset is striking, so against a great ground guy, like when he fought Thales, he doesnt want to go there cause he knows where he has the advantage. In any fight, if your smart, why risk getting your butt handed to you b/c of some idiot fans, when you can do what you do best, get the win, and be able to walk away uninjured.

Yea the way GSP was cranking on Dans arm both time's I think there's no doubt he was trying make Dan tap or break something. Props to Hardy for not tapping GSP himself tapped quick as crap when Hughes armbared him and vice versa.

ordered the fight and enjoyed it. mir got caught really good by carwin... i'm really looking forward to him and brock fighting now. that's going to be a great fight.

i'm a hardy fan, but GSP was the technical fighter coming in and did what he had to do. i think when hardy gets a good takedown defense going, he's going to be up there in a title shot fight again.

overall, i thought it was a good PPV. but, i order all of them, so who cares

I was at the fight, GSP was throwing up plenty of submissions including two that could have ended not only the fight but Dan Hardy's fighting career due to him not tapping. GSP threw plenty of punches while dominating Hardy on the ground, but George just isn't known for knockout power. He slowly sucked the will out of Hardy though, you can see by the fourth round he just looks like he lost his will. GSP standing toe to toe with Hardy would have been plain ignorant.

You do have a good point, those takedowns were a bit easy for GSP.

I think GSP has excellent standup. He probably could of KO'd Hardy Standing. He stood with Penn their 1st meeting. I just feel GSP may be alittle gun-shy after taking that Serra KO. I give GSP all the respect, he's a well rounded fighter and very smart. I never thought this fight would go the distance. It reminds of the last GSP v Penn, smother him. But GSP did apologize for his performance, even though I dont think he should have.

So anyways.. I keep seeing people refer to Tim Sylvia as "the most dominant UFC HW champ of all time".

Let's look at that..

Sylvia beat Wesley "Cabbage" Correira to get a title shot. Very funny.. considering people complain about Lesnar fighting for the HW title after just beating Heath Herring. At least Herring HAD wins in the UFC (he was coming off a decision win over Kongo at that) and was 2 - 2 overall in the UFC. Cabbage was 0 - 0 in the UFC.

Tim Sylvia fights Ricco Rodriguez and wins by TKO. New Champ. His first title defense, he TKO's Gan McGee but then tests positives for steroids.

After his suspension.. he comes back to fight for the HW title he vacated against Frank Mir. Mir breaks Sylvia's arm and wins the title. Mir is involved in a motorcycle accident and has to vacate the title.

So Sylvia heals up his broken arm, fights Wes Sims in a smaller promotion and then eventually comes back to the UFC to fight Arlovski to crown an interim HW champ. This is pretty funny in and of itself because it shows how much the UFC HW division sucked back then: Arlovski was coming off a win over, you guessed it: Wesley "Cabbage" Correira. I guess back then Cabbage was the measuring stick.

So Arlovski and Sylvia fight and Arlovski wins by heel hook.

Sylvia again has a fight in a smaller promotion before coming back to the UFC to fight Tra Telligman (who was an impressive 1 - 3 in the UFC at that time). Sylvia wins by TKO. Then Sylvia fights Assuerio Silva for the #1 contender spot for Arlovski's Undisputed HW title. Sweet lord.. Assuerio Silva!? A guy who hadn't had a single fight in the UFC at that point and overall, he went 0 - 3 in that promotion. Should've just matched up Sylvia with Wesley "Cabbage" Correira.. would've been more legit.

So Sylvia grinds out a decision win and fights Arlovski for the strap again. Wins by TKO. They have an immediate rematch and Sylvia wins by decision. Then Sylvia beats Jeff Monson by decision. Then he gets absolutely raped by a 40+ year old Couture.

So.. "the most dominant UFC HW champ of all time" = 2 successful title defenses!?

Couture has the same amount of HW title defenses. Not only that, Couture is a 3x UFC Heavyweight champion (Sylvia is only a 2x UFC HW Champ.
