Yeah Japan is worse if you're used to loud and rowdy crowds. But it's considered respectful to not make noise (unless something spectacular happens).

When i went to Pride 32 that was in Vegas and I think because everyone knows the Japanese are quiet we carried on as such. The crowd was really respectful and quiet and really only cheered for sub attempts or reversals and great techniques and of course after the winners hand went up. Otherwise it was really quiet during the actual matches, I love it. I was almost in nosebleed seats and you could hear everything. It was really awesome.

'm not sure Edgar did enough to win the belt, but even BJ stood there waiting for the decision with a look on his face that showed he felt he lost. He hardly looked like the new improved strength and conditioning animal he's been in his last few fights. Edgar moved a lot, got quick shots in and got out before BJ could counter.

Looked to me like Penn just tried to phone this one in, it wasn't the same fighter that took on Sanchez.

:sick

Ah Man,Anderson messed up for himself by getting tired after 3 rounds of clowning and couldn`t finish Maia, but i definitely don`t think he deserves all the disrespect he is getting right now,he ____ed up for himself, not the fans...He is like any other fighter(Except Wanderlei) fighting for himself and not for the entertainment, you can never predict a fight so it`s your own choice if you pay to see his fights.

I understand Dana White`s concerns, but the way he acted towards Anderson is so unnecessary,UFC`s President treating the Fighters like that by not handing over the belt himself, and calling Anderson names and hinted at the Post Fight Press Conferance that Anderson went behind his back just because of this fight, ridiculous!

I'm gonna have to try and watch the Penn fight again because I was a little drunk last night, but I felt that Penn got robbed from his belt. He really wasn't gunning for most of it, but I hardly think Edgar beat him.

one judge gave Edgar 50-45,what a joke :lol

I personally think Edgar won the last 2 rounds,3 was close but Penn definitely had the first 2.

damn I wanted to get the PPV Sat night. but ends up Im kinda glad I didnt.

WTF is up with the lackluster / cautious performances from title holders lately?
GSP, Penn, Silva ? Im fans of all 3 guys actually, but these guys (champions) need to realize its exciting fights that fuel ratings and ratings are what put the $$$ in their pockets.

I understand it may not be what they want to do. Or part of their gameplan to keep their title. But nobody wants a boring defensive champ.
Lets be honest here. Royce Gracie is a MASTER of his art, but his slow, grappling, jiu jitsu style and domination with it played a large part in the downfall of the UFC from its initial rise in fanbase and ratings.
As a champion you have a responsibility to entertain as well as win.
Step it up boys!

Horace!? Royce. :lol

Fighters aren't involved in the business side of things. That job belongs to promoters and organizations. I understand and agree with what you're saying but you need to understand more fighters care about their records/legacy more so than entertaining fans.

Not to mention sometimes fighters have bad nights. It happens. GSP always tries to finish fights. Sometimes it just doesn't happen. Anderson Silva fights best when he's fighting an opponent who wants to fight and brings it to Silva. He is a counter puncher remember. Penn finished his last 5 opponents at LW. Silva has finished 8 opponents out of 11 fights in the UFC.

And as far as GSP, the only opponents he hasn't finished in the UFC are:

Karo Parisyan - Before the GSP fight in 2004 had never been Subbed and only had one TKO loss (Corner threw in the Towel) back in 2001.

Jason Miller - Before the GSP fight in 2005 had never been KO'ed and was Subbed only once back in 2002.

Josh Koscheck - Before the GSP fight in 2007 had never been KO'ed and was Subbed only once back in 2005.

Jon Fitch - Before the GSP fight in 2008 Had only lost once by TKO and once by Sub, both back in 2002.

Thiago Alves - Before the GSP fight in 2009 had only been TKO'ed once (2006) and had only been subbed 3 times in his career. The last time being back in 2005.

Dan Hardy - Before the GSP fight in 2010 had never been KO'ed and had only been subbed 3 times in his career. The last time being back in 2005.

In other words, there's no shame in NOT being able to stop those guys because NONE of them up to the point that they fought GSP were known for being easy guys to stop. Mostly decisions losses. And the subs/TKO's they had were years earlier.

I dont know what your talking about .... :monkey1

..... holy ____ ... bout 8 beer into the night now.. that was bad .. .. :lol

There's a few good things to look forward to because of Silva's performance last night. The UFC brass' attempt at humbling Silva, and Dana's promise to make it up to the fans(which is pretty much the same thing, but hopefully for free).

I'm praying to the MMA gods for Silva vs Jones at 205 on Spike. Jones will attack. I don't know how much longer Vitor is going to be out. I think that match up could make some sense in the near future. ...but I don't know how much longer they want to let Jones develop.

:lol ... I still stand by my statement... :lecture

Dana should seriously put Silva's next fight for free on Spike claiming he cant sell PPVs after that performance.

Everyone won which I thought should...

Edgar squeaked by but like 316 said he got the better of Penn, maybe not that first scoring but he did do better.

I felt like coming through the screen and going ape ____ swinging on Silva.

...sauce...

Lately? As if Penn's last 2 fights weren't completely bad ass?

If youre talking about Silva then yes I agree.

And Royce Gracie has nothing to do with the initial decline in MMA's popularity in the 90's. it was networks who didnt have the balls to broadcast "human cockfighting". In fact, Royce Gracie is pretty much one of the main reasons WHY MMA is so popular today. Everyone jumped on the jiujitsu bandwagon once they saw this skinny little brazillian tapping out guys 3 times his size.

If White wants to punish Silva throw him in at HW agianst Mir, Silva talked crap before about moving up and fighting him in the past....so let him.

Sounds like it will be punishment enough to make him cut all the way down to 170 to face GSP instead of a catch weight; I still think Silva wins though. :angelsmil

This is true.

And the UFC is constantly trying to get states to remove their band on MMA. They were brainwashed by politicians who wanted to get elected. I also remember the same people trying to band videogames.

I think Silva KO's GSP, probably Mir to. The Silva fight was a strange fight but he's still the most talented fighter out there. Chael or Belfort may have a chance against Silva. I hope the GSP fight happens but GSP seems is too small.

I hate Frankie Edgar. I knew the fight would suck. He's a boring point fighter, I hate fighters like that. BJ didn't seem himself.

The UFC has been on a low the last few months. From all the injuries to bad Judging and Poor Fights. Just happy to see Carwin KO Mir.

I dont think A. Silva will have a problem dropping down to 170 to fight GSP. There are a couple of other guys who weight much more and do it. Even him gaining to go to the heavies I dont see a problem. To me its like if he feels no threat from his opponent then he plays around. If Vitor would have been in there win or lose it would have been a completely different fight.

Now waiting for the next Strikeforce and then WEC

I thought I heard Rogan say Silva cut from 192 for the Maia fight. I could be wrong though.

Also Dana said that Silva doesn't deserve to fight GSP. It sounds a bit silly to me, but the guy does hold a bit of a grudge.
