Well in the UFC, the #1 contender and the champ usually have a little get together in the oct, its nothing out of the norm, except a fight doesnt ever go down

Miller is fighting someone else not Shields. but he might have to fight unemployment if they decide to cut him.

Last I heard (before his fight last night) Strikeforce was looking to set up Miller vs. Lawler II. Miller subbed Lawler with a Arm Triangle choke to win the Icon Sport MW Title in Hawaii.

Not sure if last nights "Fight of the Night" changed that though.

He throw a few left punches in the 4th round that were so lazy that if they landed, Shields wouldnt have even felt it. Definitely fixed. Dan crushed him in the 1st and would have won but he was paid to lose.

And there is no excuse for an entire crew to jump one guy in MMA. 1 guy confronts him fine, 6 guys not cool. F' the Diaz brothers anyway.

What happened with who gaining up on one guy, I must of missed this...

I know Miller was hella rude for that, but Shields camp has a bunch of ****** bags, if I ran that shiat, I wouldnt even let Shields camp enter the cage in his next fight.

And after all that, all those dudes jumping on him, he didn't have a single scratch on him. There's an interview with him right after and he was a little shaken up (says he honestly did not intend for that to happen). Kinda funny.

Also if you watch that brawl video (aka Strikeforce Nashville Fight of the Night) you can see how Jake Shields throws a punch like a little girl.

No wonder he had mount for 20 minutes and couldn't GNP Hendo.

Yeah Ive said it before, Shields striking is horrible. He throws with no power, I think he trys to just tip tap like the diaz brothers. Again though even in the mount you would think you'd want to smash someones face in, but thats not what Jake does.

If CBS even decides to have another event, Im pretty sure there will be a new rule of how many people in the cage at once and who is in the cage. I wouldnt be suprised if they only allow so many walking in there corners.

The Diaz Bros: As much as I despise their stand up (annoying to say the least) at least it adds up to something in the end. Nick TKO's people. Nate uses that striking to set up subs. SOMETHING.

Still amazed that Shields had mount for 4 rounds straight, almost 20 minutes in total and did zero damage with strikes. That's pathetic.

I wanna see Shields fight an accomplished, respected BJJ fighter. Because unless I'm mistaken.. he never has. Hoping for a match-up with Jacare or even the possibility that he'll jump ship and go to the UFC.

Miller really shouldn't get bad mouthed for this imo. All he did was interupt Jake Shats interview and then Shats camp went ape ____, Shats threw a girling punch and then all hell broke loose. Miller is an attention whore, everyone knows that. He was attempting to hype a possible match in the future and Shats and his camp went off the deep end, for no reason.

That nonsense aside, Strikeforce did nothing more than turn off would be MMA fans, and continues to do nothing for hard core MMA fans. Total fail. Thnx Strikeforce.

I think MMA missed its window to become a true 'mainstream' sport. If it was gonna happen it was gonna happpen with EliteXC and the Kimbo hype when non MMA people were really willing to buy into it. The moment has passed, so unless MMA can produce a star to grab the everyday shmoes attention, the sport is gonna stay where it is. Which is fine, its making shat loads of money and generally pleasing its true fan base.

UFC is where its at in the US, and thats were its gonna stay. Period.

Lame. I agree that Strikeforce is to the UFC what the XFL was to the NFL---a joke. I watched the Fedor fight last October (not sure when) and Miller was one of the fights that night, and just watching his WWC type intro was enough for me to laugh and pass Strikeforce off as garbage.

I'm not saying all the fighters in Strikeforce are crap, but the fact that they are presenting themselves like that is just not really a good example for who they're representing.

Why would they cut him? He actually provided a reason for people to be talking about Strikeforce. They are getting a helluva lot more attention thanks to Miller than the entire card.
